Description Since working in the Canadian rockies since May this year, I have been saving up religiously to buy a canon 70-200 II IS 2.8F lens and in late August, I finally was able to purchase it! I am blown away at the sharpness of the lens and it's amazing low light capabilities. I'm just so glad I finally have it.

Anyways, when I went camping a few weeks after I had received my lens, me and a few friends went camping near Golden, BC, Canada. While we were preparing to leave early in the morning, I noticed just a few feet away that there was a small doe grazing in the bush right beside us. I don't think she was any more than 10-15 feet away. I slowly grabbed my camera and started shooting. At first we were all delicate with out movements, but after a while we realized that this little doe didn't seem to care we were there. She wasn't scared what so ever and she knew we were present. Eventually we started moving and talking like normal but again, she didn't seem to care one bit. This was quite the amazing encounter, I've never had one like this before with a wild animal. Anyways, it was a pretty cool experience and I'm glad I got some great shots. This shot was my favourite and it has really encouraged me to take further steps with wildlife photography. This is the first photograph that I actually feel "proud" about.
I'm really starting to dig photography.

Ahh well, I thought I'd share it with you guys since it seems I've gone all but silent on here. Hopefully the pace will pick up once I leave the Rockies and live back at home again... I'm really gonna miss it here though, that's for sure. I really do hate cities now. Back to Winterpeg Manisnowba I go. Q___Q ... I need to force some people to take me to Riding Mountain National Park if I am to keep sane.

Let's hope I get some more encounters with wildlife before I leave here in late October!

Oh my gosh, this is gorgeous <3

We've had a huge buck come and visit us (same guy, we're sure) over the past couple of years. Chillest thing in the world. We literally live right in the middle of the city, with very noisy kids, and a rather busy road right out front. He couldn't care less.
Not once have I seen him spook, and my dad and I have been able to even go outside and take photos of him, from about 10-15 feet away, sometimes.

That's incredible! You usually think of deer as skiddish, so having one behave like that is... Well, mind blowing. Haha!

You should grab some extension tubes for cheap of amazon or ebay, it'll make that incredible lens even longer, and with the extra f-stops you wont miss them.

Yeah! I really want to get the 2x Extender mark II I think it was. That's my next goal. The only way I'm gonna buy a better zoom is if I dive seriously into wildlife photography. Which may just happen in the future since I love it so much.
