Pretty much the most nonsensical-yet-popular ship in the entire Inuyasha fandom...
Y'all can ship what you want, but in my honest opinion, this one is weird and doesn't make any sense. At all. Both Sesshoumaru and Kagome need to be OOC...heck, even Inuyasha has to be either killed off or also made OOC to make SessKag work. But hey, if that's what floats your boat, go for it.

Oh, please. Let the people love what they love. If it makes scense or not. It's like the none-scense Yaoi pairings, you know. Like Draco x Harry or like Yami Yugi x Yugi. How boring would it be, if ANYONE loves the same thing. Just my opinion ^-^

I tried reading the famous Sess/Kagome fanfic "House on the moon" - couldn't get into it. I don't like this couple at all - if other people like it good for them, but don't try to convince me its canon. I know a lot of fans who say " Sesshoumaru is Rin's warm, dotting daddy - they just need an mommy to complete their warm happy family. Kagome is so motherly so its an Perfect match made in heaven. Inuyasha has Kikyou - and Kagome deserves better then to be a mistress.". To me Sesshoumaru is child Rin's protector and friend - he doesn't really come off as the "warm dotting daddy" type to me, besides he's equal to an 19 year old (according to the author Rumiko Takahashi) and Rin is like 7 or 8 (yes I know 10/11 at the end). Besides isn't Kagome an holy priestess and Sesshoumaru an very proud full breed demon - natural enemies? Does the Inuyasha series really need another love triangle?

i agree sesskag makes ZERO sense canonically. but the fanworks are still fantastic.
besides, sesskik makes even LESS sense and i've seen several inuyasha/kagome shippers shipping it to pair kikyo with someone who's not inuyasha lol

I just came across a fanfic that mentioned Kagome giving birth to Sesshomaru's kid, who just happened to be in dog form...

Also, do you remember what that fanfic was called where Kagome gave birth and the baby 'scratched' her on the way out? I think I may have seen that one, but I can't remember.

I actually do remember reading one like that! And yeeaaahhhh, even if the kid inherits claws, I'm pretty sure something like that wouldn't really happen, since 1.) it doesn't happen to dogs giving birth to their clawed puppies (nor to any other clawed animal), and 2.) human babies can actually have pretty sharp nails as well, but it doesn't happen to birthing women either. Plus the fact that babies usually come out head-first and the birthing canal is a pretty cramped space...the baby would have to be intentionally trying to get its hand in the right position to really scratch the mother on the way out.
Y'know another one that bothers me? When the writers are describing the newborn and mention something along the line of how their parents could see "cute little fangs poking out of the mouth" or whatever. Like YOOOOOOOOO it takes a few months to get your teeth; newborns are toothless in pretty much all mammalian species. Even if you want the baby to inherit fangs, which is fine, the newborn isn't going to have them, period.

I agree, totally! I've seen fanfics like that too, after Kagome gives birth and the baby's all cleaned up and then the baby yawns or whatever, and Inuyasha and Kagome see its "cute little fangs". I'm like, "Wut?" Most mammals are usually born WITHOUT teeth. The only mammal that I know of that's actually born with teeth is a guinea pig.

Yeah I agree with everyone that say they don't like this pairing, the only times Kagome and Sesshomaru have ever talked is when Kagome is trying to convince him to work with Inuyasha despite knowing neither of the brothers want to do so willingly. Hell Kouga x Kagome makes more sense than Sesshomaru x Kagome and I don't even like either one although I have seen worse pairings for her in the form of Naraku (how people decided to have her with him is beyond me) or her being with Kurama from Yu Yu Hakusho which is a completely different anime and not to mention different world.
Although I will admit that Sesshomaru x Kagome is way better than him being WITH Inuyasha in a romantic sense cause there are two reasons wrong with that, 1) they are brothers and therefore it would be incest and 2) they aren't gay for one another no matter how much stupid yaoi fangirls say otherwise (please note that I've got nothing against gays as my older brother was gay himself but I'd rather read a guy and his girl getting it on rather than said guy and his brother or another guy getting it on).

I will admit for the first time I only like Kagome with sesshomaru because well Rin is a child that is weird, and I hate Kagura and everyone else is stupid. Kagome seems smart enough for sesshomaru. But I do like inuyasha and her together.

I'm not into Inuyasha, but I hate those random ships. They would need REALLY good story and explanation, but most of of the time it's just OCC characters acting like complete idiots for the case of pairing.

I am sorry kinda bugging me that Inu Yasha isn't reading more into what his brother is saying. I watched the show for a while now (rewatching it one by one) and Inu Yasha seems to be more concerned about why Sesshomaru says what he says than what he says. I believe the last time Sesshomaru said something like that Inu Yasha litterally asked him why he thought that (despite it being obviously cause Kagome is a human.
Anyways, now that I got that off my shoulders... I think a perfect matching would be Sesshomaru and Kikio and Inu Yasha and Kagome.

What you say about Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru may be true, but luckily, this drawing was made simply to poke fun at ridiculousness of the SessKag ship. I appreciate your input, though.
I'm neutral to SessKik. Don't particularly care for it myself (personally I see Sesshoumaru as the type to just stay single), but I do think it's a lot more plausible than SessKag.

Those abbreviations are the fandom's choice for the ship names. I didn't pick them.

The main canon ships are InuKik(sort-of...they had a brief relationship, after all, but didn't stay together in the end), InuKag, and MirSan. Throughout the fandom, though, ships exist for pretty much any two characters you can imagine. Sometimes they make sense, sometimes they're "crack ships" (meaning they don't make sense), sometimes they even involve OCs. There's no limit to the ships, really.
