Description Humans are not born alone,
They are born with their souls sewn,
To the soul of a black loyal friend
A bond which is impossible to end

He will never abandon your side
He shall cling to you as a husband clings to his wife
He will be there when you walk your first footsteps,
Giving muted joyful cheers upon your success

Like a group of synchronized swimmers perform their act,
He shall, in perfect synchrony with you, your actions enact
His fondness of you is so immense,
That death to him is a surmountable fence

Yet, in despite of his great loyalty
People tend to overlook his fealty
They lament the fact that they are alone,
Ignoring the friendship their black companion has shown

Therefore, before you cry due to being lonely,
Remember you have a dark friend who loves you wholly

I wasn't aware of the existence of such a poem. I did not copy him, if that is what you are accusing me of.

That's really cool. Do you come up with all your poems yourself?
I don't do much writing, but my sister does a whole lot. She loves poetry and verses.

I don't come up with the poems by myself, I make use of music and online websites a lot.I usually listen to music when I write my poems. I  also use dictionaries and a thesaurus to help me decide which words to use, and in order to find words that rhyme. I also use online websites to conduct research about symbolism, so that I can improve my ways of expressing through writing, sometimes simply to simply better understand my subject. Namely, I conducted a lot of research for my poems 'Spider-like' and 'Freesia'. I also use other websites to help me come up with rhymes, and to study English grammar rules; English is not my first language so my need for reviewing grammar rules is imperative. Sometimes, I use google translator to check that my English sentences are written correctly by seeing how they look in my native language.

Your sister has good taste; poetry is a beautiful thing.

Wow.. That's a lot of work.
That's really cool that you like to write in English for your poetry. I'd imagine that to be difficult.

Yeah. I;ll have to show her some of your work. =]

Yes, writing a poem in English is kind of difficult, but English is such a beautiful language that I feel it pays off.

Thank you, your words are far too kind; it makes me very happy to know you like my poems! Hopefully, your sister will like my poems!

I love it! What a nice haiku! I loved the analogy you used about the shadow being a mirror to ones' soul!

I liked the old Japanese tradition of adding two lines in response to a haiku, so I often write things, most often haiku, in response to art or poems that inspire me.

Thanks.

I just had a thought that if you were 22 back in 1978-79 when I was first in Japan at that age, we would have had a lot of fun together.

We both share a passion in poetry and interest in each other's cultures. Had we met in the 70s, I'm sure we could have become close friends and learn a lot from each other as fellow artists.

Going to Kamakura at New Year's Eve (it wasn't so crazy back then)... Maybe even singing karaoke duets?

Yes, there are a number of awesome sights in Japan. The Golden Temple is another favorite.
