Description
Art is study and improvement, so I decided that this piece deserved a refashioned.

I've been reading some books about this warrior queen (of the author Manda Scott and also of Marion Zimmer Bradley), and other references I found out about it. Since I love History and especially the Roman Empire, I've decided to create this illustration, romanticizing Boudica as the mighty queen of the Iceni who ALMOST defeated the occupation of the roman legion in Britain.

Boudica is such a great inspiration! You've done a wonderful job here, she looks so strong and fierce! I especially love the atmosphere of the smoke and mist in the background it adds a sense of awe.

The Romans would have sent more and a lot of tribes were not with her. What Romans did was to open trade goods to the average person and Boudicca would have closed that to them. She was lucky but not a great general by any means. An inspirational figure for Britons and the Victorians later on.

But I have to admit that the Rome Impire it's for me exiting, with all its mistakes and good things. I love all about Clasic Rome, their customs, living, infrastucture, philosophy...and their strategy (not always so honorable as they want).

É de uma coleção de livros de História chamada "A História Não Contada". Trata-se da história de St. Patrick. Desde sua ida forçada para à Irlanda quando Roma já desmoronava à beira da Idade Média, até à total transformação da Irlanda pagã em Irlanda Católica. Bem interessante!
