How long of an exposure do you have to have for something like this? I've heard of film plates being used for science study of meteor showers, but how do you get your photos of this?

Oh, wow. Beautiful image!
This year's Perseids shower was the most spectacular i'd ever seen. I am reliving it looking at this.
Very good work.

its really good. even better that you got 2! that's gotta be really rare unless it's a very active meteor shower or if you're out trying for a really long time

August is amazing with its meteor showers. We look heavenward and enjoy also, but have never captured anything as noteworthy as what you shared here.

I highly recommend Great Basin National Park for night sky shots, but this is, as always, incredibly beautiful and impeccably executed.

Was this done with a DSLR or film. Also how long was the exposure. Ive had no luck with meteor showers. This is quite a great shot!

Awesome shot! I watched the Perseids from my backyard and this was probably the first year I've actually been able to see them without it being cloudy.
