Description My version of the classic image of Christ called,'The Sacred Heart'. Traditionally, the image depicts Christ touching his wounded heart, on fire with love and surrounded by thorns. My version has this, but also, more ephasis on His sacrifice.

That's ok, I find it very amusing in it's simplicty-especially the,'BBQ', added at the end. You got two online terms and then,'BBQ', which to me, is super funny.
Needless to say, it takes very little to make my day.

Love the look and the way you presented Christ, strong and resilient, the traditional sacred heart is rather wimpy (no disrespect) I like this version much more. As you say, you notice His sacrifice and His indomitable spirit. Would like to add you to my fav list

This is such a beautiful picture, I love the movement and bright colour in it. I also love the meaning, it looks like Christ being crucified, but facing his death with glory and pride. It's such a powerful message to send out.

*sorry for commenting so much ^_^;*

He looks really fiercely triumphant, to me almost like He's daring the Roman soldiers to look at Him in all His glory, to instill in them the fear of God and His victory over death. Lovely piece!

Haha-are you kidding me? You can comment as much as you like-I certainly do not mind.
I really enjoyed reading your interpretation of my work here! It certainly could go that way, seeing as his stare is deliberate and supposed to get one's attention.
If you have seen,'The Passion of The Christ', I tend to remember the soldier that pierced Christ's side, getting sprayed in his eyes by Our Lord's precious blood, only to fall to his feet in awe. That scene is so intriguing, because you just know he just had a seriously amazing experience!
Anyhoo, it's all kinda related to God and others affected by His presence!

If I may add my two cents, the Passion movie is based of a book of visions by a lady named Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich. In the book, that soldier had a vision problem and when he was sprayed, his sight was healed, hence his falling to his knees.

Thanks for sharing this! I am very familiar with Blessed Anne Emmerich, but did not know that the soldier that was sprayed with the blood was healed of a vision issue. (I have not yet read her writings in total) I assumed in the film, he was just transfixed due to coming in contact with the Holy Blood of Christ. However, I am glad to know now the further story-thank you!

I... love this.
I love the coloring and the intensity of the eyes. It's cool how you integrated the suffering He took on for our salvation into the image of the Sacred Heart. Very awesome.

Thanks so much warfrost-your comments are very well received.
And it's true, I am thankful that few people are bothered by my images-though even if they did, I would not hate them.
Still, I enjoy the nice comments all the same.
Yes, and I wanted to evoke a mix of beauty, horrible wounding and that 'knowing' look of which you spoke. I am delighted to see it translated. Thanks again!

Nice work...often a "controversial" subject. I'm glad you have had positive comments and no negative remarks, as is often the case.

I like the color scheme, and the fact that you made him a "mess". Most people don't realize that he was beaten beyond all recognition, and he almost always looks very "tidy". Excellent whip marks as well

I'm definitely on the Protestant side. Irregardless, I find this a compelling, dynamic piece of work. Excellent for Holy Week, which is coming up very soon.

Delighted that you dropped by my DA gallery! Thanks for the kind comments. I think it's neat that your church has the same name as this art piece too.
The fearless aspect, combined with the mercy and sacrifice are sides I was happy to translate together in His mood.
