Long story short.. I wanted to make this costume because I love Galaxia. I wanted to make wings and have this look really awesome, but I forgot about it, and I never intend to finish it the way I had originally anticipated. I took a bunch of lame photos like I did with my Princess Venus, and here we are again. A crappy costume with crappy photos and a crappy collage! horray!A decent Sailor Moon cosplay will happen, and I WON'T FORGET ABOUT IT OR PUT IT OFF.

The gradient on that wig is impressive. Did you dye it yourself? I know from my own experience, wig-dying is a pain

I did! I was a huge pain in the butt to curl the wig, but Sharpie method was used on this guy! Congrats on WCS btw! ^_^

Sharpies, really? I've always had such terrible luck with Sharpies bleeding on things... particularly on my face. and whne I Washed it out months later, NONE of the colo stuck to the fiber. so sad.

It was originally a straight blonde-ish color (how it looks at the top). I bought it from ebay, dyed it, added yellow highlights to the top with a sharpie marker, and curled it. Curling it was the tough part! Thanks! ^_^

Thanks for the info. What technique did you use to curl the wig w/o burning it, or melting it (if it was a nylon wig). I've always thought that wigs were "what you see is what you get". I had no idea you could do such amazing things to them to make them look so fantastic. I know that if I tried to dye, highlight, and curl a wig I'd destroy it in the process ... lol.

Curling was really a pain.. and I can't stress that enough. I wish it came out better.. All I did was wrap each strand around a curling iron (unplugged, not turned on etc. etc), and held it over the stove in my kitchen. When the fibers were hot to the touch, I unraveled the hair from the curling iron and the heat from the stove made each strand permanently curly. The stove was on high, so there is definately a danger in it melting (which it did in a few places). I started in the back, underneath all of the hair to start experimenting. It took awhile, and the melting plastic smelled horrible, so I would suggest plenty of ventilation as well.
As for dying it, I used diluted calligraphy ink in a spray bottle when it was still straight, combed it in, and used a gloved hand to smooth it out.
