Description

Originally, represented the terrestrial water, while, for its part, the plumed serpent, the celestial water. The Mexicas had as the responsible for the periods of drought and torrential rains and made sacrifices of children to honor him in the first month of the year (ātl cāhualo). It is originating in the culture of Teotihuacán.
