Hideo is a very perceptive person, despite how he may seem as he is used to reading many different kinds of books and witnessing different characters within those books. He has a keen first impressions and can tell a lot about a person on first encounter. He is very secretive about the things he likes and will often lie or avoid the subject altogether because he is afraid of being ridiculed for his interests. He is very self-conscious about himself and how he acts and will often act fake in that he merely acts how he thinks the other person wants him to act or to avoid trouble. He often mirrors the person he is talking to. He doesn't like over-exerting himself so he constantly underperforms except when it comes to writing. Despite being intelligent when it comes to reading subjects, he keeps his grades average because he finds it a lot of trouble standing out. He isn't a very trusting person and as a result of this may often seem detached. When talking to others, he lets the other person do most of the talking since he'd rather listen and observe them. Hideo doesn't see any reason to be rude or tease others considering he had to experience such behaviour when he was younger and it wasn't so nice. For the most part, Hideo is a calm person, this can be both a good and a bad thing as he often hides his true feelings at times. After a while of talking he will get exhausted and randomly go really quiet.

Background || Hideo and his elder sister Kaoru were adopted by a middle aged couple at a young age, him being just 1 years old while his sister was 3. He doesn't remember his parents of course and the fact that he was adopted doesn't seem to bother him at all, considering the fact that he was lucky enough to have a good family take him in. He considers his adoptive parents his real parents. He had a pretty average childhood, in which he spent the majority of his time reading books rather than going out and playing with the other kids. At that time, the only person he would really talk to was his sister who was the more outgoing and adventurous type, he'd often sit and listen to her tell stories of her endeavours.

During elementary school he was often teased about being nerdy, since he'd rather read than interact with the other kids, this led to him isolating himself even more. He was also teased about his wavy hair as well as his height since he was always bigger than the other kids. In junior high, he mostly kept to himself as well while the most interaction he got was with his online friends he met through writing fanfiction of his favourite books and series. He loves them dearly and they're some of the few people he can really be himself with.

On the advice of his sister he decided that he wanted to try to interact with others more in Highschool and have more of a social life. He did succeed in that he could say he had ''friends'' but he was never really close to any of them. Even though he's not really close with anyone, he started viewing getting to know persons as a valuable activity since it gives him inspiration for his stories. With regards to grades, Hideo keeps a B average and is average at sports as well. Hideo got into Jiyuu no Seishun through his father's connections. His father, hearing of the school's prestige wanted Hideo to go there because he believed in his potential. Hideo, however still does not know what he wants to do with his life.

-Hideo lost a bet to his sister which resulted in him dyeing his hair
-No matter what length, Hideo's hair always curls up at the end and it drives him nuts, this is the length he feels comfortable about his hair the most
