Description My contest entry for Noire-Ighaan 's contest.

It's her chracter Wolfsbane, so © belongs to her.

In the beginning I drew a scene with Vienna and Paw, but I just can't draw backgrounds for the life of me, so here is Wolsbane instead .
And I finally know why people like to draw naked women so much, fabric is just a pain in the butt...

Thank you :3
Yes, I'm just useless with complicated drawing programms, so firealpaca is the one and only for me ^^

Same here, but I am like 200 level under your skill ... How did you blend it so well ? And the fabric looks so ... rough.. Bleh I cant find the right words (non-english-person) Do you use own brushes ?

I use some brushes of this brushset: fluffyzeliboba.deviantart.com/…
(Splatter, Furr and Tree bark are the best ones I think)
I use Splatter most of the time to add some structure, it works well for skin, but not so much for fabric.
As for blending I like to do a flat underpaint in the darkest color of whatever object I'm drawing and then I put all the brighter colors on another layer. Then you can blend them with a BIG bleng-brush without loosing the crisp edges
Well, and I don't know about the fabric...I guess it looks rough because I don't know any other way to draw it :/.

Whoa, you did all this in Fire Alpaca??

Naivascha In reply to CrystalRaven98 [2014-05-25 17:22:35 +0000 UTC]

Sure ^^ and I've been wondering, is there a maximum number of layers or a maximum filesize in firealpaca? Because my file just broke after adding 2 more layers (just when I was almost finished, I had to start all over from a backup-file D
I tried the newest version and an older version of firealpaca and on another computer...it just won't work anymore and I can't find anything about that happening to other people on the internet.

I figured out that the program can only handle two or so files open at one time or else it'll shut down abruptly. I haven't run into any problems with layers and I use up to 5-8 per drawing in one go. File size I've not dealt with much - how big are yours normally?

Hmm I have't run into problems with multiple files open, I'll keep that in mind. Well, I usually use about 10-20 layers ( it's a mess most of the time) My files are usually 30 to 40 MB but this one is like 130 MB...and the broken file (with the same picture in it) reduced itself to 8 MB, so I guess there is no way of restoring that.

Whoa yeah 10-20 might overload it. Perhaps try merging certain layers that you deem okay to combine??

I think this is because of your Hardware. My Current Project has ~120 Layers and I didn't experience crashes.. Usually at some point the processor can't handle that much... i don't know how strong your Hardware is, but maybe thats the problem
