sorry my friend, its really someone that i didn't watched, except a glimpse at 2 or 3 images in a book. Though i see what it is but i think he, and before him Kandinsky, went on "aerial", sometimes geometrical" use of space. Well here's the list of the artists that influenced me for sure :
In order of discovering (even in my chilfhood) :

Giger,Cronenberg,Dali, then later
(i started to paint at that moment :
Bacon.
Then i watched like a surgeon at Bacons work for 1 year, painting very few.
Then later i discovered :
De Kooning,Auerbach, the great underated Michael Andrews, Egon Schiele and the austrian school, ...then finally, i studied (freestyle) impressionism...Van Gogh, Monet... and pre impressionism. Finally I went to Rembrandt and Velasquez for the way theyy treat the skin texture.
But i want to precise that the way i paint faces, and the "comic" looking of certain shapes and colors, this i made before I even opened a book of Bacon. If i could find a pic of the firsts paintings i made (it was on wall, then on a panel that my ex-girl kept,damn l, lol) ill show u what it looked like... the big lines were yet there.
All this to tell u that some people don't have a style but a great technique then one day they, maybe , will find their style. Me i went the opposite way, i had a style (not very elaborated but a style though) then i worked hard, (no school), to get a technique, and i worked a lot on the more "classical" way. Thats the story...aaaa...i almost forgot, i don't read mangas,comics anymore but i think i have been inspired by american and japanese comics (both), in my childhood, it is here, in my painting (like a painter called Cecily Brown) , i cant deny it !

so nice to hear your influences and your life story too...as for young me i have been constantly bombarded with various influences...of course dali made a huge impact on me..but before i saw Dali, i dreamed of becoming a Van gogh, i even stole a van gogh book once just to insanely study his work for two years...i was a studious copier then..and i havent yet found my style then...but when i saw dali, and yearly studied his works, made allusions to his, and then read techniques on classical drawing, immpressionism(like you),i even did Klimt, Then Picasso came and showed me the power of lines...Then someone commented me to find my own style...till recently i discovered Matta's Art...and found him as a great inspiration...i studied his technique to the point that i have copied ten large canvasses from his originals..then i set forth to distinguish myself and fuse all my influences at once...im begginning that journey now, and i hope like you, would see the fruit of my style flower!!!

now you know...lol...but still picasso is not letting go...but recently i kinda hugged Bacon's art,Motherwell's lines too made an impact onme...

yep, it depends of my mood, but this one is more c"constructed" with more "aplats" (how do u say) and "fee" space, some parts are very melted, others not. Well said man.
