I particularly like the chess board as a symbol here. It's an interesting composition because I can really see him as the kind of person who is mildly obsessive with games like Chess, Go, and Shogi... yet his character in various Transformers story-lines has been that of playing piece, rather than the player. Very nice.

The details are gorgeous, but something strikes me as odd about the chess board itself. The hexagons look like they don't match up properly, like it's skewing the board to one side.

On the contrary, hexagons were hastily drawn by hands, so they aren't even. And the board itself is more or less symmetrical. I could have draw one hexagon, duplicate it and form a grid, but that would be too unnatural for my taste.
