Another version of this [link]A lot more cartoony and obviously a lot more simple. I'm still not used to traditional painting, but i liked this one a lot!
It's still not finished, though it looks like it, needs a little more details.

I definitely love this. The color palette is GENIUS. Only, I wonder - I've been struggling with acrylics in the last months for some works for Illustration class, and I still don't know quite how to get such good gradients. Guess It's because I like using really "raw" colors and almost no water, but, just asking, how did you do it? D:

well i am the same! I never use whater, just to clean up the brushes haha.
Well i dont really know how, this is like my first (proper) acrylic piece.
What i do
i sketch the thing i want to draw
I paint the bg (flat)
Then i paint the main thing (in this case, the red lady) but i just paint everything flat
then i add the shadows and the shading
then the details
and done!

god sounds so easy when you say it but GODDAMN IT'S THE SAME THING I ALWAYS DO AND I ALWAYS GET RUBBISH. I guess it's also because I try to do something more realistic and I get mixed up with everything every damn time.

well i used to be scared to fuck everything up when paiting with acrylics, because everytime i paint i end up screwing it, but this time i tried a different technique and i actually enjoyed doing it.

This looks really cool! Perhaps you should seperate the hair and the lip a bit so they don't touch?

oh, um, like in the twenties there was this kind of style of art and architecture that was pretty popular called art deco, and this piece seemed to have some of the elements of it

I like this, the gradients and the colors really pop! I also feel it could go with a little more detail, perhaps across the girls skin are bands or wires? Possibly geometrically, to work with the shapes in the background? Hope I can give you an idea of what I mean, or maybe helped come up with something too! Other than that, awesome work!

Have you ever heard of an artist by the name of George Pal? He did claymation/stop-motion animation in the 40's with the same kind of fame as Walt Disney. This really reminds me of his work, it's awesome.
