Description This is the first landscape i've tried w/ oil. I think it came out ok. The water and trees were very hard to do since the image that i was using as a reference wasn't very clear

It looks great, especially the water and the rocks. I also like how the mountains are hazy, like they are far away, although the contrast between the two mountanis is a bit sudden.

Great job!
Were you ever shown the trick for doing leaves for deciduous trees? It involves rolling up a wad of toilet paper and ripping just the tip of it and dipping it in the paint. Then you just dab it onto your painting being careful not to dab too hard or too much. Just rip more off when the tp gets too squished.

I guess you could sharpen up the edges a bit; some of the curves and angles seem kind of off. Also throw more colors in, which you did on the mountains on the right, but the big one on the left is just kind of flat blue. I think the easiest thing to do would be to use a separate picture of mountains as a reference.

No problem....not that I'm exactly an expert. I'm still learning too! Sometimes all you really need is a second opinion.

Yeah I know.

"wow dats good!"
Yeah, real informative.

Usually if you just put something in your description, like "let me know what you think" or something you'll get better comments.

JP23 [2006-08-26 21:24:54 +0000 UTC]

The rocks look great; it was their details that really caught my eye. And the trees and water look fantastic! If anything, it looks like you maybe rushed on the mountains in the background.

hmm well the mountains were really blurry...any suggestion on how to make them better?
