Description My very first finished image for my Patreon page. :3
----------------------------------------------------------

A few words about this piece:
It took me round about 12 hours to complete this. The coloration of the wings beeing the longest part of the project.
Coloration-theme was "fall". Suggestes by my Patreons.

What I learned:
I can't draw flowers. I need to practice if I plan to draw more of them in the future. :/ But to be fair... I never really drew flowers before... And I should've used some references. I was almost about to scrap the whole image because of that xD...

I used watercolors of the brand Schmincke. I love how bright the pigments are! So colorfull. <3 much better than my student quality watercolos I used before...

Special thanks to my patrons for making this picture happen <3 Love you all <3

Wow! I like the creativity in this. I never thought of heard of the idea of a fairy dragon before. ❤️ and I find the orange and red colors to be totally appropriate.

Always use reference when drawing something for the first time... it saves so much grief, lol.

This is really beautiful, Mythori! I love the attention to detail you gave the dragon, especially that translucent bit on the tail where you can just barely see one bit behind the other. Totally keep this rockin', you've got a great eye for watercolours.

yeah I figured as much. I had flowers in mind while drawing but it would have been better to use reference. I did use some for the wings tho.

Thanks for the kind words. <3

It's all gorgeous, but those wings definitely take the cake. It would be really cool to see some more variations on these, tbh!

I am thinking about making it a 4 piece series, starring the seasons.

Wow! It's amazing how the colours in the wings appears so luminous that it almost glows! Do you have a specific technique for that, or is it just many years of practice?

no specific technique. After covering the wings with masking fluid (and the whole dragon for that) i made the background and then wet-in-wet for the wings, starting close to the body with a very bright yellow and then going into darker yellow, orange and red. When it was dried, I used black to make the markings. The dark black makes the colors pop even more and makes them look even brighter because of the high difference in value. .... I guess :,D
