Bloody genius.
I'd so wear this on a shirt. Or paint it on my wall.
Display it somehow and claim it as my own idea

Naaah.
Amazing tho.
Kinda reminds me of that song by NIN

Nice composition, and congrtulations on the Daily Deviation. That left foot is bothering me the position suggests it should be a little further but instead its bigger.

That's pretty amazing for a linocut. I am creeped out by the implications, but I like that, too.

everyone's been commenting about your technique; which is, of course, wonderful.
something that the comments have been lacking is about the meaning. i simply love what this piece stands for: it has so many different levels to it, and i'm not referring to the types of ink you used.
nicely done.

love the monochromatic-ness (that's not a word, is it?) of it.. must have taken freaking forever... but this is beautiful. how large was the edition?

yeah i only got 3 out of 5 attempted ones on my blumen woodcut, and it was much much much smaller. kudos to you on this.

Definate . Hell freaking yes.

xie-kitchin [2005-02-28 00:04:08 +0000 UTC]

This is really well done. I've done a reduction cut before, but my skill with ink consistency was somewhat lacking. I'm better with plan old black and white.
But this is beautiful. Nice colors and layering thereof. I especially like the smoothness of the honey compared to the roughness of the other surfaces.

blackbirdie [2005-02-27 23:29:27 +0000 UTC]

I am disgustingly impressed. I didn't know you could do nice things with reducing lino. It was my understanding that anyone using that method was doomed to failure. How wrong I was...

YES! DEAD BEEZ!!! DIEDIEDIE!!! XD You've just made my day with this MASTERPIECE! You see, I have this HUGE fear of beez and love nothing more than to see them drop. But anywho, great job on the knees, don't ask why, but that really stands out to me... it's hard to get the shading right. ^^

wow - this rules. i wonder how you did that on linoleum. i've worked on a reproduction of munch's screm in linoleum at school, and it ended up looking good. anyway, i couldn't imprint it, nor do layers, it was plain... yours does look very good. plus the subject evokes disgust and decandence. congratulations
