Description Well, here is!!! 's request. I really hope you like it! it took ages *cougharound7hourscough*

Im not 100% happy with this picture (its quite busy) but im happy with what i learned while i was drawing it
I used no tutorials (couldnt find any ) so thats why it all looks a bit dodgey XD

Oh, and it took ages to do those stooooooopid stones so you had better look at them for at least 5 minutes (j/k )

Nice character and scenery. The murky, red-mist horizon and river lava are pretty good, the earth looks like cobblestones and the jet of fire looks a bit artificial.

For the lava-streams at the back and the stones might I suggest these things. Try to vary the width of the lava as it trickles off the hill, from tiny streams in-between the rocks to larger ones that dribble over. Do the same with the stones, try to make flatter surfaces made of small stones with larger ones strewn around to look like broken boulders from past eruptions.

The Dragon is well-designed, no noticeable anatomy flaws apart from my opinion on wing membranes. Similar to bats, the membrane shouldn't show through exactly what's on the other side like a tinted glass, it should only show through significantly large sources of light.

Try to refrain from using opacity for the membrane and focus on the fact that light can still be seen through it.

I can't help you much on the jet of fire I mentioned earlier except maybe narrow the jet a bit and tone down the intensity a bit so it's not 100% opaque so it can be seen through just a tiny bit.

Hope that critique helps you, overall it's a nice picture and you shouldn't be ashamed of anything you've done wrong on it. I commend you on your persistance on the cobble-stone floor.

What I really like in this pic are the wigs, you menaged to have them as a layer and it's really hard. It's a very good pic

Myklor In reply to xxxholic13 [2007-09-24 08:54:44 +0000 UTC]

thanks again ^.^ the layers did get me muddled quite a few times during this picture

Stoned-SquirreL [2007-09-23 21:49:42 +0000 UTC]

The first thing I noticed, is, the lava looks flat. Not really like flowing melted rock. The rocks and fire as well.

I can't really critique on the wings; I've long since forgotten how to draw dragon wings. The dragon itself seems too smooth; but I usually can't be assed to draw thousands of scales either. Its front paw (the one on the ground) looks too fat in comparsion to the raised one.

Overall, I'd say a C+.

Nice lineart, and the stones look good... all that time paid off XD The shading is good, and although I agree that it is a little busy, I like this piece. I love the way you did the fire especially- keep up the good work!
