Description "All in all, the experiment was a brilliant success, though it ran for a shorter time than desired.

The Resonator had to be shut down prematurely, else we might not have had enough crew to make it comfortably back to port. Over forty Russian tribesmen bravely gave their lives to science this day - a terrible tragedy as they will surely be expensive to replace.

Also lost was an entire crate of ether, carelessly dropped from the edge of a berg in the midst of today's activities - a tragedy on so many levels.

Nevertheless, we saw many wondrous and splendid things this day: creatures and landscapes from the aether danced and swam about us through the air, and we saw the laws of our world temporarily suspended by those of the aether world.

It leaves me to wonder: How closely does the placement of their world correspond with ours? Are these same creatures to be found elsewhere on our planet, or would we perhaps find other inhabitants should the machine be tested in new locations?

What sorts of variants or unique beasts might we see in other locations such as Beijing, Hong Kong, Indonesia, London or perhaps even New York City?

Needless to say, I am beyond eager to see!"

Professor Aden M. Kemy, Miskatonic Archivist

I’d love to do a Fan Fic feature, but I don’t read much Fan Fic.

This is amazing

Traditional art of this quality on dA is a very rare sight,
Keep up the great work.

How long did this piece take to make? I spend about a month on each of my pieces, something like this must take absolutely ages.

I'd say probably about a month.. not always painting though (but a lot of the painting process is all those thoughts you have about the painting while doing other things). I think I maybe have a hundred some hours invested in it.. unfortunately it is hard to see from a web graphic how far the details go.

Thank you Mattogma

I *love* working hands on. I spent way too much of my life working at a computer (graphic design/ad agency). Trying to do digital often feels too much like work to me.

I was so excited when I spotted this on my devwatch! Because I can't say it better: What shayshayni said. I'll just add that the incredible detail just blows me away. Great writing, too.

Thank you Nevar ^_^

I am glad that people seem to like the writing as well. It is nice being able to add to or demonstrate the feeling and concepts within a bit more with the written word - I will have to do it more often

this is awesome! It feels like a seen from 20,000 leagues. The detail is wonderful and I love the flying squids. the only thing that throws me off with this image is that the clouds are running parallel to the ship's angle. but, maybe that's what you wanted. great job all in all!

Thank you Chibazato ^_^

I did want the angle, but the sweeping angle would have come together much better were the airship about 2 inches left and an inch down.

With current placement, I agree, a different cloud angle might have made for better separation of the far back and middle back fields.

Oh, and the entire series is very centered around Jules Verne and H.P Lovecraft, a mingling of the two with surreal stylings

This is just wonderful. Between the imagery of your painting and the imagery of your words, you construct an entirely immersive world of infinite imagination.

Truly a work of art.

Thank you Shayshayni

It is a part of a series I am doing, all based around airships, Jules Verne, and H.P. Lovecraft - I am certainly having a lot of fun with it ^_^
