and swallow her up it does! i love the way the tree frames the figure, but gives her a little breathing space. it really does feel like the two are interacting. i think she gets swallowed up by the tree, and the tree uses her redness to make berries. i like the way it fades into white on the righthand side of the picture.
im working night shifts at the moment, so i identify with her wandering alone in the dark! hope there are no wolves at asda... (hides in the butter aisle)

why yes, I always hate the way the darker elements of fairy tales are just brushed over. NO! they're very sinister.

I like this a lot. Definately a great illustration. I like how the red hooded girl looks so alone compared to the cold dark woods.
