Description
This Kestrel is part of the Raptor Project . It is the smallest falcon in North America and certainly one of the best looking (though falcons tend to be pretty birds!). The lighting was very bad (indoor, artificial) so I relied on high ISO settings to get a decent shutter speed (no more than 1/200 on each photo). Noise was reduced with Define 2.0American Kestrel

The RRP director, Bob Anderson is almost single-handedly responsible for the resurgence of peregrine falcons in the Upper Mississippi Valley...
