Thanks, glad you like it!

Great to heard that it keeps you going! I've been using 3D very short myself so i'm guessing that you can make something like this in a small while, or even now already aswell

I'm still working on the ones i missed (more then i thought, around 15 )
For real Pokemons i think i need to use Zbrush some more, Cinema isn't all that great for sculpting although they've added a sculptfeature in the new version so i might wanna check that out.

Cheers!

damn, i just started, i need to watch ALOT more tutorials to come close to that haha but what is ZBRUSH used for? im new to all this 3D crap but i want to be amazing some day! aha ohh thats nice to know tho! thank you!

MyBurningEyes In reply to JesseSoto [2012-09-12 05:24:12 +0000 UTC]

ZBrush is the best sculpting program available at the moment
It's like working with real clay so you can make incredible stuff with it, just google it a bit and you'll see

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JesseSoto In reply to MyBurningEyes [2012-09-12 05:32:52 +0000 UTC]

yeah i just downloaded it, now im watching tutorials on how to use it but you think its better than 3Ds max? well, the sculpting? what do you usually use for each program? like, do you sculpt in zbrush, then lighting in 3ds or? lol any help would be appreciated thank you!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MyBurningEyes In reply to JesseSoto [2012-09-12 08:36:08 +0000 UTC]

Awesome, have fun with it!
Do you have the latest version?

Well, it's just very different. Zbrush is specificly made for sculpting so it's better in sculpting then 3Ds, but it's like comparing Photoshop to Illustrator. With both you can make vactorbased logo's, but Illustrator is just completly designed for it while Photoshop isn't, you know?

I don't use ZBrush often but yes, i do the sculpting in Zbrush, make static models in Cinema4D and animate in Cinema aswell, although i should use Maya for that since Maya is meant more for animating

JesseSoto In reply to MyBurningEyes [2012-09-12 08:50:39 +0000 UTC]

i have 3ds max 2013 and zbrush zr4, i just got POSER too!

ohhhhh GREAT point! yeah ima try and get used to zbrush then, i want to do more detail sculpting and create real life 3d images, im pretty used to 3ds now, i just can't go into detail with alot of things but i know most of the basics!

yeahhh ima do animation later on when i get more advanced! lol

Poser is good for backgrounds and standard locations right?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MyBurningEyes In reply to JesseSoto [2012-09-12 12:07:56 +0000 UTC]

Nice, experiment and have fun of course

Yeah exactly, real life stuff just takes lot of practise, but can basicly be achieved with every program if you work with it enough and have a good base Do you use Vray for 3Ds? (i thought it was available as plugin for 3Ds, but not completly sure) It's a physical renderer that makes more natural and realistic lighting, atleast you have to worry less about how to set up perfect lighting then because it will be partly done for you then.

I've used Poser for a really small time so i don't know much about it but it's main function is to have easy 3D human models and play around with them. I don't know about backgrounds, all i know is that the renderer isn't that great so it usually turns out quite fake and a bit too much like 'Plastic 3D' if you know what i mean. Although that might be taste of course.

I don't know if Poser has a good compatibility to other programs. You might try to make a good human model in Poser, export it into Zbrush to make details and realistic textures, export that into a scene in 3Ds max or cinema and finally render it with Vray. And maybe a bit of Photoshop touch-ups. A whole bunch of programms atleast haha

JesseSoto In reply to MyBurningEyes [2012-09-13 00:31:05 +0000 UTC]

ohhh i see, ill look into vray right now i never heard of it till now! but yeah i used poser all day and it seems lame and it doesnt really get into detail with everything, and yeah i planned on using photoshop for touch ups but i have a HUGE question! HOW DO YOU EXPORT YOUR ZBRUSH INTO A 3DS MAX SCENE? i been looking everywhere and i can't find it, i created a model and added textures and hair to it, but i want to export it into a 3ds scene so i can add an environment etc! if you can help that'll perfect! thanks!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MyBurningEyes In reply to JesseSoto [2012-09-13 07:41:49 +0000 UTC]

You have to export an .OBJ file for it to work in other programs
I don't know if you need a plugin for it or that you can just export it directly, thought it was a standard feature.
Just google a bit around and you'll find it

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JesseSoto In reply to MyBurningEyes [2012-09-17 16:09:48 +0000 UTC]

yeah an .obj just exports the clay model no textures or nada =/ but ill figure it out soon i hope haha thank you!

First let me say. I am ALWAYS impressed by your works, your talent and how much talent goes into your works. That said... It is often quite difficult for me to pick 'fault' and suggest improvements to your works.

I really love the 3D element, how the balls at the front are larger than those at the back, you've done well with perspective and the concept of distance and size. As usual. Although that may have been something interesting to think about going from the center out to the sides as well but perhaps that's just me looking for something constructive to say.

I really love the unsual colours and styles here. To be honest I want them on my shelf, or perhaps to eat them, they just look so interesting.

If I had one thing to say I think it'd be the lighting. I feel the ones in the foreground should have less of a shadow. I'm also confused why the shadow is infront when the light source seems to be infront. I also think some of the 'shines' may be a bit "off". Such as the reflection on the left side of the left row of balls and the right side of the right row of balls. Also the back two rows should have less of a reflection. To be honest not quite sure where that reflection would come from but it's mostly me picking something out of your wonderful works. You always impress.

Favourite balls. Pink heart. Pinky-Purple goop. and the two at the front. Just on design alone.

Least favourite balls. Yellow and White (at the back), Orange and White (at the back corner), and the two red, yellow and white pattern ones to the left in the center.

Generally lovely work, lovely collection. Wish they were real.

Hey missimoinsane,

First of all, thanks a bunch for the critique!
I'll have a look at the lighting soon, there might be a layer on that shouldn't be on. My guess is that it looks a bit odd because the room itself has a print with very small lightsources, and there is also coming light through the glass window behind the pokeballs, making the shading have multiple directions.

All in all thanks for the the kind words, i appreciate it a lot!

To be honest. It's brilliant and I was trying to find something to actually say that wasn't "its amazing, wonderful work you've done really well..." which is how I felt. Anyways really enjoyed your work and look forward to seeing more (as always) x

Can I throw them all? e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Big Grin)"/>

It's truly inspirational of you to make something as awesome and cool as this. I don't care how many pokedollars I have to spend at the Mart to get all these- I'll do whatever it takes. >:3

Everything on this thing looks incredible and down pat to what it'd look like in the game, if not better! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Big Grin)"/> The only thing I'd suggest is perhaps choosing a different design for the Safari Ball and Luxury Ball, but those aside, I love everything!

Can I borrow that Dusk Ball for a minute? Er... There's a stubborn Sableye in Challenger's Cave that won't get in my balls... Yeah...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MyBurningEyes In reply to 7-Bit [2012-09-05 19:28:26 +0000 UTC]

Haha, well collect them all i guess Unfortunatly masterball can only be obtained once

What would you change on the design fot those 2 balls then? I've tried my best to create them as realistic as possible but i only had sort of sprite references so The safariballs quite matches the shapes and color of the original texture used for the ball though

I don't even know what a Sableye is, but go ahead!

Thanks for the critique!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

7-Bit In reply to MyBurningEyes [2012-09-05 19:42:46 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, yeah, I know, don't remind me. xP

Well, the Safari Ball, despite how it DOES match the pattern of the original, as you say, it seems a bit too camouflage and bland for the design of a Poke ball. Secondly, I could recall that the Luxury Ball had multiple rings around it, not just one. I dunno, though, that may be just me. xD

x3 It's a common Pokemon in caves that doesn't have a weakness.

You're always welcome!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MyBurningEyes In reply to 7-Bit [2012-09-05 19:46:46 +0000 UTC]

Yeah you might be right, although i don't know if i can really do anything about it since it's Nintendo's design

Yeah it has multiple rings, but it doesn't seem the top ones are actually bevelled rings. They look like prints in the pokeballs, atleast from what i've seen so far

Haha, unbeatable?

I just found out i actually missed like more then 15 pokeballs, and i thought these were a lot already!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

7-Bit In reply to MyBurningEyes [2012-09-05 20:17:05 +0000 UTC]

I suppose so. x3 Just make the colors more vivid next time and you'll be good.

Eh, ah well. x3 I'd still try to draw them. as you see them.

Not necessarily. x3 It's still kinda weak, but I don't care about that at all. It's still a cool looking Pokemon (and my personal favorite).

Yeah, I thought there were some missing too! I couldn't think of any, though. x3

Epic! You have a talent my friend! Anyone can be fooled by these because they look so real! The shading, the light, the mirror and shadows will make anyone think this is totally real! Well, I was a big Pokemon fan and I still am before I moved to Sonic and these Pokeballs look so good and realistic, it makes me want to have either one or all of them. The pokeballs are very awesome, cool and I love everyone's design, some pokeballs I haven't seen before either I missed them in the series, games or they're fanmade pokeballs.

All I have to say is that I was amazed when I realized that these weren't real and only 3D manipulation. They look so realistic, the shading and light on the scene are very realstic and the mirror and shadows add an effect of 'real'. I love how it has a sort-of spotlight effect on the different balls.

The different balls were very well done too. The lines are very precise and they look just like the real ones from the game. MyBurningEyes did a very good job copying all of them. From what I know, he didn't miss any of them. The colors and patterns show off the ball, and even though I never really was an expert in Pokemon balls, I can say which is which easily because they are very well represented and copied.

In overall, a very good 3D drawing, so perfect... I feel like if I'd touch one of those buttons on 'em a Pokemon might come out e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)"/>

5/5.

No problem, I saw how awesome this was and I couldn't believe it didn't have a critique yet ^^

Hm, as I said, I'm not the most specialized person in Pokemon. I have no idea, but it's probable. From what I saw in the game, they use normal Pokeballs most of the time and some Ultraballs when they have bosses or whatever.
