Meet Jinx!

Jinx was born to the Bronze Herd. His personality was a bit on the annoying side, so making and keeping friends was a difficult task. He eventually started to do ‘bad’ things in order to get the attention of his peers. It soon became clear that Jinx was very prone to making a scene, which some bad colts used to their advantage. While Jinx caused a distraction, the hoodlums were free to steal, raid, and otherwise vandelize property. Of course, Jinx eventually found out that his ‘friends’ were using him, and he left the herd.

He began hanging around elven towns, trying to find someone to bond with so that he may wear fancy tack. When he turned 6, he actually paid a farrier to embed 4 rubies into his hooves, just to have some kind of bling

After wandering the streets for a few years, he spots a young, poor elf girl named Kadia. She was very different from the other elves. She made her own things with her own hands. Never did Jinx see her with a single coin. Anything she needed, she got or made herself. Jinx watched her everyday for weeks, becoming more and more intereged by her. Finally, he followed her home one day. Kadia wasn’t expecting to bond with a horse. She could scarcely feed herself, let alone an Eqkin. She couldn’t afford to give him the tack he desired. Jinx insisted, though, that he stay with her and that she make him special tack by hand. So, Kadia gathered things from nature (and some stuff from trashcans) and made him a custom saddle out of a thick stripe of hide and faux snow leopard fur (to make the ride comfortable). She attatched purple jades to the hide to act as stirrups. Straps above each stone hold the foot in place. The placement of each stone is perfect for galloping (the middle stones is where you would place your feet), jumping (the highest placed stone) or just a lazy stroll. The breast-collar is made from barred rock rooster feathers and swan down. The center is a large green jade stone. Kadia found the blue part of the bridle discarded in a garbage hole and attatched the red straps as reins. She gave Jinx a pair of silk stockings (another item found while dumpster diving), and a pair of silver-plated shin guards.

Jinx absolutely adores his humble, hand-made tack, and is thrilled to find a friend that doesn’t want to use him. Kadia is extremely patient and doesn’t mind Jinx’s irritating personality in the least; she actually finds him to be quite endearing.

The 2 who lived a life without acceptance now live in peace together. Their forever bond can never be broken.
