There are so many reasons why this piece is great--overall it is tone-drawn correctly and feels like the 20's-30's era. I can imagine seeing this piece within a Collyer's or Esquire magazine. It's a great caricatured likeness and doesn't look overworked. And I love the way you worked some of the areas--The mistiness of the hat, yet the opacity of the twin sprigs underneath was a nice solution. Skillfully rendered. The leftover sketch lines and paper dirtiness feel good and I enjoy their presence. Not so pristine that it's porcelain finished.
Par excellence!
