Harusame Meadow's aquatic unicorn Narwhal has been a busy fellow for the past few years. We turned him out with our two lovely Cameo mares Midori Mojito and Lady Aoi and left him to his own devices. When we checked on him later that summer, he had somehow acquired three more!

We were mystified as to how he had managed to find three more young mares of that rare breed. We knew he could swim in narwhal-shape, but surely his mares could not? However, our young groom snapped this photo of him right before the entire herd plunged into the sea and vanished. He returned a week later, with the mares safely in tow, so all we can think is that somehow he can extend his magical abilities to his mates.

The foals have begun arriving and they are quite a blend of Narwhal's characteristics and that of the Cameo genetics as shown by Umi no Ruka, Lady Aoi's filly.

We should have more to show in several weeks as we get them used to being handled.

Behind Narwhal, from back to front, the mares are:

Lady Aoi - soft blue-turquoise
Midori Mojito (lead mare and in the lead, as usual) - spring green
Ume Hime - pale plum
Nioi Gozen - silver smoke
Sorako - periwinkle-lavender
