How did you achieve this?

Well,I started it as a technical exercise, defined by a simple and narrow set of rules,...namely, a series of lines of approximately the same length formed into co-joined triangles. No exceedingly narrow or very broad-based triangles were to be used. As I worked, I let my mind wander, and when the first part was done, [the linework], I had the idea of a monochromatic gradient. As I applied this, my sub-conscious mind began to influence the work in ways I wasn't fully cognizant of until it was completed, and I could step back and look at what I thought was just an 'interesting pattern'.....it was then that I began to perceive images hidden in the pattern, and the title occurred to me. If this seems too simple, or just a bit daft, you must realize that I work in the traditional 'surrealist' mode frequently, with no real concrete idea what I'm drawing until I'm done.

Looks like polygons to me.

Oh. Originally it was distorted squares and general randomness, then I started adding lines to make everything triangles. With the 'framework' done, it was up to the colors/shading to tell the story.
