Well it's not like this anymore meaning they fixed the bug or whatever. I've noticed  tho when working in SAI, and saving in psd and opening it up in Photoshop you can't have Folders as a clipping mask. Everything under the folder that clipped to whatever layer will disappear when you open in Photoshop. Some people though do that when doing bases and i have to unclip it and fix whatever before using it...

I'm using firealpaca and it's very different than SAI or photoshop so i wouldn't know... I just dowload a PNG file and draw on it in layers.

I used to do that but then I'd have to also redraw the base to change the eye color and lip color and skin color so I started using the other 2 file formats mainly SAI to do all the work and PSD so I can load it in Photoshop just to save it as a PNG with a transparent background because my SAI is stubborn and won't save with a transparent background anymore. Plus I like all the extra detail/effects I can add with it.

i manage to do quite the extra details with the limited file system of firealpaca, you can check it out in my gallery. i quite like it and have grown very accustomed to it, i don't think i could change to SAI or photoshop anytime soon...

I thought the same with SAI.... I only ever used Photoshop CS 6-7 Till I tried SAI and I thought I'd hate trying the new program but I actually prefer it for drawing but details I still use Photoshop CCE 2019  It's a bit slower in loading when starting up but runs great afterwards.

i tried their free trial but i only had 31 days to figure out how it works, by the time i started to figure it out the trial was done and it wouldn't let me open it at all. firealpaca is free and i like it, plus i can't afford however SAI costs as my drawing is just a hobby and my dad (who's in charge of my money now) won't let me buy any hobbies i want if he doesn't think they're important (and he never does, he bought me my laptop because i needed it for university)

You can get SAI completely free. I didn't buy mine. You just need to know where to look. do a google search or a DA search for Painttool sai and I'm pretty sure you'll find a few free ones.

I just wanted to post up my links so ya'll can have the program but i am not tech support. Please stop asking me for help on your sai malfunctioning. This is a pirated program - its gonna have issues and even I dunno how to fix em. This has no viruses as far as im concerned.

thanks, but I'm very happy with my firealapaca(although i do know of something you can do in SAI that you can't do in firealpaca so maybe I'll take a look anyway)

it's not the trial so you have all the time you want to figure everything out. I mean I use SAI for all the drawing and coloring and the jewels and adding wings to it because it's easier to resize things, if using a mouse Like I do gotta remember to hold the shit key to make the resize even without guessing and to move it on angles use the crtl key on any of the tiny boxes they give you when resizing and photoshop for the textures and such.

Yeah I know. 
Most people have the drawing tablet things, I don't I use a mouse it's a a bit harder but I manage. And you couldn't tell by looking at any of it to be honest lol

you really can't tell! i use a drawing tablet and honestly if i tried using a mouse my drawings would be so much uglier than they are now...

Thats why it takes me a while to do them because of using a mouse... well that and having nerve damage in both hands but I manage with it I think if I tried using a drawing tablet they would look so much worst because I couldn't control the lines like I can this way.

no nerve damage here, but my hands are shaking the more accurate i try to be so i sort of understand how long it takes. i just took a base with clear and thick lines, that way i can change colors much easier, but sketching is a bitch...

SAI as long as you use a SAI or PSD File changing colors are easy as can be. you add another layer above the one you want to change the color of and use the setting clipping group and then the bucket and on that blank layer and merge it down Wa La that layers color is changed. 

Lol sorry force of habit to explain things. If the explaining gets confusing I can make walk throughs with pictures. and show you each step.

Oh yeah They don't take long at all It's mostly a lot of copy and paste with screenshots and circling the everything in red.

Maybe its DA itself. I know it sometimes has a "temper tantrum" and screws up peoples art by doing what ever to it. It happened once before but never like this.
