Wow, its been ages since I visited DA and I see that your works are as beautiful as I remembered them! In fact, I think you have gotten better - well done! This piece is just wonderful! I had the same association as - it's evocative of Millais' Ophelia, but somehow darker and more sinister. I like the attention you gave the background - it's nicely balanced between sketchy and detailed.

This is so amazing! I just love the colours and the textures in the picture. The girl's stilness is just a little scary. And the way you did the leaves of the willow trees is perfect. Also the dark petals around her are a beautiful touch.
Your title is so fitting by the way, this Ophelia will not be taken by the water!

This reminds me of Ophelia by one of the preraffaelliti artists - great work! This is just a detail but I like how you have done the tree to the right, it creates a nice frame and adds depth to the scene. Good luck in the contest!
