Name: Pan
Age: Unknown
Species/Type: Plant/carnivorous
Gender: both male and female
Alliance: Caelius

Before and even during the Age of chaos the small plant had remained undiscovered. Keeping sheltered in the deepest of rain forests the timeless plant ensnares prey of all shapes and sizes in order to survive.

Not discriminating against what would befall into her traps almost anything that was of flesh could be eaten.

Able to extend and morph it's roots, the timeless plant can recreate basic copies of the food it eats, these copies are far from perfect as they can easily be differed from the originals unless a large enough amount of the particular species has been eaten.

This mimicry serves two purposes. The pantomimes can act as a lure to catch more prey in the snares.
The other use is for defending the mother plant from any predators.

NOTE: the mimicry is almost purely cosmetic. The mimic cannot replicate any abilities that the original has.
This includes:
-speed
-strength
-flight
-any magic or supernatural power

They are strictly puppets made of plant material for visual deceit.

This doesn't mean that the plant doesn't attempt to make it look like it's real, if it's copying a bird it will flap the fake wings and have something supporting the body upward. Specific movements of plant material can make certain sounds, but nothing close to any sort of language (at least not without practice).
It may try to mimic flames with brightly coloured leaves but it's pretty damn obvious that it isn't fire.

The mimics (or 'spawn') must be connected to the mother plant via a vine/root umbilical cord. If this cord is severed the thoughts and awareness are split in two. Though these separated spawn have a short life expectancy (like plucked flowers) but can eat more creatures to extend it's life.

The spawn are significantly weaker than the mother plant and are very vulnerable to the seasonal weather. Spawn are far more likely to live during spring and summer than in fall or winter.

Though it is inevitable that these spawn will die unless the mother plant is killed and devoured then the single benefactor spawn can root itself and become a new mother plant.

At the very peak of the Age of Chaos the timeless plant was sealed away with the demons. As time passed it became apparent that the mother plant was not going to survive in the moon, with no soil to plant itself it began to wither.

Eventually it shriveled and shrank into a minuscule seed that would wait in suspended animation for however long it would take until it could live again.

A thousand years later when the seals were broken and all returned back to the earth. Ares is based in barren wastelands where plants cannot thrive.

It took several years, carried by gusts of wind or floating in the sea or the fur of a rat.

Eventually the seed found itself in the rain forest of Guava, where it was able to sprout and become a small flower. Starting with microbes in the soil, to small insects, to frogs and lizards the timeless plant slowly began to regain it's strength by eating whatever it could.

When the war finally spilled into guava as Ares soldiers took the temples within the rain forest.

Current Time:

As a rogue fire spread throughout the forest it seemed she had nowhere to go, then she met a strange man who saved her from the flames, but he witnessed the young spawn burn to death.

Bringing the strange plant back to his home a few days later he was surprised to find the very same girl, alive and well, and eating his dinner.

Hey!

I checked your app >v<)/ It is a really itneresting idea and I really like the conceptΓΆ... the problem I see is, how can she interact with others and how can she be part of Ares?? These are reqirements for taking part in the group and as much as I love the overall concept and idea, it doesn't link with the faction, the people,... Can you change the final form somehow maybe so she can actually leave Guava and interact or become a part of Ares???

I'm not sure if I explained it clearly (as I didn't want the description too long) but a spawn can survive indefinitely with enough food without been connected to the mother plant.

Also the mother plant can be removed and planted elsewhere but as I understand the lands of Ares are mostly barren and difficult to survive in.

Unless there is a laboratory or some lab inside Deamond's castle that the plant can be kept which would also double as reassurance that she wouldn't try to defect over to a different faction.

Ultimately she is a plant and will only think along the lines of survival and wont grasp the same concepts as sentient beings do (eg: revenge, honor etc)

I've thought of alternatives if you still don't agree (such as combining the mother plant and a spawn in one) but it'd feel a waste of an idea.

Besides I'm sure Deamond would appreciate a carnivorous decorative house plant that he can feed scraps to like a garbage bin.

Kind of reminds me of 'Little Shop of Horrors'

xDD Yeah, I bet he would like such a plant xDD LOL

Can you specify that in your description then cause I didn't get that part at first ^^ It's okay to have the mother planth somewhere in the castle, if Necropolis is too barren/bone-y, another option would be it's located in his crystal castle somewhere ^^ Please just make sure such things are stated in the app so other members and the other admins/mods can read and understand it right away >vπŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

lollll that'd be hilarious.
I'm just wondering exactly how he'd bring the plant back from Guava. Would he just zap it nearly dead and put it in a jar? lol
Because as far as I'm aware he can't communicate with plants

You mean Deamond? ^^ He is a god... so I guess he can feel it In a way the gods are connected with all of Zion, but thats part of the story and I mustnt spoil anything ^^

lol okayy~
I'm editing the description now.
Also if the mother plant is fed like....a herd of elephants then it can raise a thorn barricade.
Not that the castle needs it with Lalun around anyway

stop bleeding out of your eyes, it's getting on the carpet.

This little lady is pretty much just a biig mish mash of already existing creatures in folklore.
The death and rebirth from a phoenix.
the basic idea of an elemental nymph.
shape shifters
I know that there are some creatures that lure children into the forest but I cant remember what they were.
