Description Conrad Veidt was amazing as Gwynplaine, aka the Man Who Laughs and I wanted everyone to know how much I love him in that role. So here is a portrait of him that I drew using only pencil.

love that book, it was writen by Victor Hugo, I think...either him or Gaston Leroux, never seen any portrayal of it, though, well done =3

It was written by Victor Hugo. I never got the chance to read the whole thing because -- well long story -- so anyway it's on order and I'm waiting for it to arrive in July.

very nice drawing! i loved the movie and the book...Hugo was a verbose author and he wrote beautifully about Dea and Gwynplaine's relationship

He was great in the role. Did you know Lon Chaney was suppose to play him , but because of a contracting conflict they got Conrad. Very nicely done. Would you like to join my Silent movie club ?
