Description Turbine hall of an abandoned power plant; much of the machinery is intact and the ceilings were incredible. The control room is poking out on the right side.

That ceiling does indeed look incredible. Never done a power plant but me and =valan saw a pretty impressive looking one when we went to KΓΆln last December... absolutely huge place although sadly not derelict

Ever done drains? The UEers over here are getting restless and are thinking of doing drains I'm undecided about drains.

Umm anyway yeah, great photo and it looks a really interesting place to explore.

Thanks!

Nah drains never interested me, maybe a huge 20 ft one, or a really old stone or brick one would be interesting, but other than that it's a long, wet, monotonous hole in the ground. There's very little or no history or architectural beauty, two things that appeal to me the most.

Partying in a drain is a completely different story though
Make sure there's no rain in the forecast before you go, those things get rough!

No rain... we are talking about Britain. It does nowt but rain here

Partying in a WWII Air Raid Shelter is also fun Drains, I'll leave it to my mates and let them report back

You're right about that ceiling. That's back when architecture, even in the industrial world, had style.

Nice angle. Captures the ceiling just right.

Someday soon I'm coming to visit you. I want to see if these places are really as pretty as you make them look. If they are, I'm proposing to one of the east coast abandonments.

Back in the day when even a functional building like this was designed with taste and art!
