I see that you made your own rig. impressive... what did you use for the suction cups? I was looking into doing this myself as well.

I used an Avenger 1000 from Manfrotto. very cool cups. I think it's the same one in the link you gave me.

no. those are different, but after farther research, I decided to get the Avengers as well. But I got another question... how long of a rod can this setup support, in other words, how far from the car can the camera be?

Hey! Great shot here love the idea of a homemade rig.. im very intruiged! Any good sites to look at for building a rig? or insight from yourself? Again really like this nice and sharp and i actually like the way its coming from the over exposed area hehe

It's pretty straightforward but I found a lot of websites and a forum dedicated to Car Photography and building Rigs, shouldn't be all that hard once you get everything you need to build one.

I use an Automotive self made rig that fits on the car and makes it easy to get this effect by slow shutter speed.

the general rule is to never get over exposure in the photos but in this case I think it served the photo instead of being too bad a fault. but I do admit I would like to produce some rig shots without any over exposure at all.
