Well folks 2010 has come and gone, and it's only right that I end the year off the same way that I started it...that's right...with a pic of Nikki titled after a song by the Legendary Roots Crew!!! (Jimmy Fallon's house band) In January Nikki was coming right at cha' with "Here I Come" Over the course of the year she's had some pretty action packed adventures, especially with her run-in with Sataria The Cyborg Queen and her Collective which she was almost assimilated into the evil hive. However, ever resilient and unbreakable like her moniker Diamond, she was able to bounce back stronger than ever and get over the setbacks that she faced this year. This pic is basically her chucking deuces (the peace sign for those of your that aren't versed in jive talk) taking her final walk off into the sunset for 2010 as she's ready for what lies ahead for her in 2011...just like the first pic, the title comes from the latest LP by The Roots entitled "How I Got Over" (HIGO) which came out earlier this year and is also IMO the best album of 2010 as well as inspirational music for me and my life. (Go and give it a listen...even those that aren't fans of Hip Hop will enjoy it!
It is an instant all time favorite of mine! 
) I'm a little leary of how her head in relation to the rest of her body came out...I used two separate photo refs and it looks a little weird, but I even tried this pose in the mirror to see if it's natural...it was a bit uncomfortable, but a totally possible pose.
Damn, I hate to see her leave but I sure love to see her go!
But don't worry...you'll be seeing plenty more of her and the rest of my gals in 2011! As for me...2010 has been one of the best years that I've had in quite some time!!!!
Finally...I've been going through a string of several lackluster to flat out shitty years in a row, but it appears that things are finally taking a turn for the better. In 2010 I finally got two things that have been eluding me for quite some time....my self-esteem/confidence and a girlfriend! 
Sure, I still work at the same crappy job waiting tables, but I was also promoted to one of the head waiters and I've been making enough money to live comfortably for the most part w/o wondering if I'll be able to pay my bills on time! Unfortunately, my Carolina Panthers were extremely awful 
but at least my Univ. of SC Gamecocks were very good this year!Next year...I hope to go even farther, not just with my art, but with my whole live. I don't make resolutions, but my theme for 2011 is: NO EXCUSES. It's shit or get off of the pot time for my life, and I'm ready to ascend to the next level!!! So on behalf of Nikki, Sapphira, Raina, Angie, Simone, Deuce, Scarlette, Onnica-1, Sataria, Techna, and the rest of my gals...to all of my friends, watchers, causal visitors, haters, or whatever you are...I wish you a very Happy New Year; may your 2011 be 2011 times better than 2010 was for you!!! Health, prosperity, love, and happiness to you all!

Well...things have been quite rough and rocky since then. Granted, it was five years ago but a lot has happened in 5 years. I've gone through job changes, three relationships (including the one that I was in when I initially posted that), a few moves, and all sorts of stuff. I said that '10 was one of my better years...well, it would seem that I would return to 'normal' with the following years being completely crappy, with the exception of 2013 which was really good. 2014 was arguably the worse year of my life, with 2011 being pretty shitty as well!!!!
Frustratingly enough, I'm still dealing with some of the issues that I was dealing with then in addition to other things and crap that has come up since then. But, I'd say that I have a better outlook on life now as I'm grounded by my faith in Jesus now whereas I wasn't 5 years ago. Not that I've mastered it or that I'm perfect by any means, but I have a better piece of mind about things now than I did years ago.

You were right a lot can happen in 5 years and seems for you it has. I am most excited about the fact that you are more grounded in Jesus and though you've been through much your spirits are still lifted in Him.

Your very talented you can write and draw!!! You got a double portion!!! I'm sure the best in your life is yet to come starting with this moment no matter what is going on in your life, no matter how dark or bleak things may look at this moment...keep looking up.
I know easy for me to say....but...well I know that things can turn in your favor when you least expect it.

Cool...I checked out the lyrics and listened to the song on Youtube! Yep, that pretty much hits the nail on the head with me and my situation!
And yeah...it's amazing to think of just how much stuff can happen in 5 years. And I do indeed hope and pray that my best days are indeed ahead of me! I'm just grateful that I'm still standing and that my life has been an ever-evolving testimony to how God has been restoring the brokeness in my life!

Yes, my avatar drawing is based on me but I'm darker among other things. My age...well...if you're in your Teen's or 20's I am old if you're in your 60's or 70's I'm young...lol...that female code of silence won't let me tell!!
Interests??? I draw, experiment with 3D and photo manipulations. I do a little writing and I read. I use to read loads of sci-fi and romance, but it had to be a certain kind of romance. My fav writer of love books was Betty Neels. My fav author as I mentioned before was Octavia Butler. My all time fav book series was The DragonLance Chronicles. I love watching horror stories but I could never really read them...my imagination is too active for that!!! I've read Dune and bunches of other stuff. now I basically only read the Bible which fills me with wonder, hope, excitement, love, peace and Fear!!! It's my ultimate read!!
I am enjoying your stories and plan to keep reading thru them to see what happens to your characters. Great stuff!!!

Thank you for the watch!!! I do my drawings/manipulations on a whim. I learned to focus or dedicate myself to anything!!! I would love to do some digital art...but that seems a bit complicated to me!! Maybe I will experiment one day. People like you who seem to have mastered it---are an inspiration to me.

You're welcome! And I know that feeling...I started out here on DA almost 9 years ago just as a watcher. Sure, I drew but my stuff SUCKED and I was very afraid to put my artwork on this site next to pros and all of the other amazing artists. I finally decided to take the plunge and I'm glad I did...being on this site has somewhat forced me to step my game up and get better in hopes of one day becoming a great artist myself. I've met several friends here that I have known since I've been here that between here and Facebook I talk to on a regular basis...and I think I may have actually only met one or two of them face to face. I do miss the community aspect that used to be here on DA...it has since fizzled in the past few years for some reason; a lot of folks have left and gone to Patreon.
I highly encourage you to keep on posting your work! Share it with the world...there may be the chance of a random troll to stop by and leave a negative remark for the sake of starting an argument, but if you stay true to your work the cool people will find it and check it out!
And I am by NO MEANS WHATSOEVER a master at this! I've learned that just when I'm thinking that I'm getting good or I've "arrived" at being a good artist, I'll look at something of mine and I'm quickly reminded that I have a LONG way to go still!

So now that that's clear....
I will take your advice and post some of my drawings. I am mostly into photomanipulation at the moment and trying to learn digital drawing...which is a lot more complicated than I thought!!! I know you feel you have a long way to go...and that is a healthy attitude for all of us to take...but still...you are a very talented artist and your work proves it!!!
