Tho also sometimes I manage complete pieces steady and planned from idea to sketch and then color but that's more like exception xD

xDD That's great! I can't do this that spontaneous, I think. For fast sketches or drawing it's of course no problem to start with just a simple, little drawing which I place often above my actual drawing. . . but all the planned works are filling pages and pages of sketches. xD But that's often the most fun in it.

I usually start with a circle ahahaha and then it just goes XD There are a lot of fields that lie out my comfort zones, so I try to target that but it's not always a success) All my sketches go underneath the lines/cleaner sketches, at least so I work atm
For the fight togethere there was initial sketch with just people arrangement, the second one with details, then base color then LOTSA overpaint, I think I have the progress post on my tumblr page tbh~

With circles. xD That's so classic.
But no! It's good! It's very good. Circles are the basement for organic objects, forms, living things.
And one has always to face and cross these comfort zones. Otherwise you'll never improve. So that sounds good.
For every planned or created picture I set for myself to do something better or simpley in another way.
Ah. . . do you combine those sketches. Are those separate drawings?

Yeah, I know))) I am also kinda prone to redrawing my own old stuff, it makes me feel the improvement and my weak spots clearer.
YESS, EACH PICTURE IS A CHALLENGE, at least the big ones I do. For regular skribblesΒ I just practice or draw off the ideas in my head. Backgrounds. Backgrounds are ALWAYS a challenge omg what is prespective...
No, they go on separate layers in one drawing like first a crude sketch with basic idea. Then a new layer above with more clear sketch, proper faces and limbs and stuff. If I feel like it, I make lineart layer above, but I forgot how to do clear lines once I moved from SAI to PS...
Then a layer under the clear sketch for basic colors/lights. Then above all - an overpaint layer, where I work over details and correct the mistakes. I mirror my imageΒ a lot.
(Ahaha, now is not the best time to visit, but the winter is gonna be nice here no doubt~ I've been to Germany multiple times too, but mostly to Nordrhein-Westfalen~)

I think the most artists have quite the problems with backgrounds . . . xD I dunno. With characters and bodies I just know what to do in an instant. But buildings, landscapes . . . I do like staring at them and I'm enjoying it, but it's hard to grab them. xD So I do feel you. xDD
