Description
When: October 15, 2022
Where: Dierenrijk Mierlo, the Netherlands
Since this zoo "allows" people to touch the Lemurs (i.e.: they don't educate people, in fact, we've heard a volunteer say that only due to COVID you couldn't tocuh them, but once restrictions were over you could once again, and there's no around the clock supervision during opening hours) we don't often enter their free-range habitat. We don't support human-zoo animal contact.
But when it's quiet with other visitors, like this time, it's quite perfect to go see them.
Species: Red Ruffed Lemur (Rode vari)
Latin name: Varecia Rubra
Originates from Madagascar.
Current status: Endangered
