These Birds are so photogenic if you ask me They're not the typical Vulture, so I can only hope they hear less of the stupid comments "Vultures are ugly/ dirty"
Species: Cinereous Vulture (Monniksgier)
Latin name: Aegypius Monachus
Originates from Eurasia.
Current status: Near Threatened

…The Cinereous Vulture is also called the Black (European) Vulture or the Monk Vulture.
…It’s genus name, Aegypius, is Greek for “vulture” or a bird not unlike one, being somewhere between a vulture and an eagle.
…In some countries, the Cinerous Vulture is called a variation of Monk Vulture, for its bald head and ruff of neck feathers like a monk’s cowl. It’s more common name though – Cinereous or Black – refers to it’s ashy to black plumage, although “Cinerous” was chosen to set it apart from the American Black Vulture.
