I have been suspended twice and sent to principle's office every other time, but that won't stop me! One of our school bullies was being an idiot the day after and said to me "That's a sin, you're all going to hell!" And my bff very sweetly replied, "I guess I'll see you there then," that shut him up! One of the gay couples in our school took a pic of themselves kissing under one of the "being gay is a sin" signs and posted it everywhere!

My school does that too.
I was SO excited to participate, but one of my teachers threatened to give demerits if I did not speak. Even AFTER I showed her all of my "Day of Silence" pins/papers/etc.
I was immensely offended, especially since I recently discovered the fact that I am bi.

I remember this back in Highschool when it first started, teachers getting pretty pissy about people not talking. To me it made no sense. You must speak out against what happens around you not be silent and let the corruption spread like a plague.

I'm gay, but I never participate in this day of silence nonsense. It rubs me the wrong way that this movement is strictly LGBT. It should be for all types of bullying, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. Just my two cents.

I did this today... And I was surprised at how supportive my school was. Not one person spoke out against us. And almost half the student body was silent. It was amazing.

"I took one of those "Fuck Gays" papers off the ground. I took it to a teacher. They did nothing about it but throw it away. It's up to us to make a revolution with this issue. The makers of America did it for the slaves and now the gays are... the slaves. Free the gays from the hurt.
People made comments all day about my tape. They called me homosexual for supporting the homosexuals. My sexuality has nothing to do with the kindness and warmth homosexuals deserve. They are the nicest and most up beat people ever known and they do nothing to hurt us. I may be bisexual but even before I realized I was I always had the out look that homosexuals were to be respected. Gay in the old days was the meaning for being happy. So why label something so hated something so happy? If you want them to be gay let them be GAY.♥"

Our school's done this the past three years, and we've gotten such a HUGE turnout! Our GSA kinda collapsed after the leader graduated early, but we're planning to have it up and running again next year!
