My friends and I decided that this is how I would dress if I wasn't Mormon. Of course, this is pretty close to how I dress anyway, but I always wear sleeves and I'd never wear a shirt that low. The super-stylized madness makes me happy though.(graphite)

I was, and it's probably one of the majors factors of my current views on religion -- all they did was lie to us. Like telling us in Sunday school that coffee had tanning agents in it, like what they use to make leather, and if you drank it you would die. :/
But if you enjoy your religion, more power to ya! :]

Coffee has enough bad stuff about it without lying about it. Example: if you get addicted, going without can give you headaches and taking too much can make you jittery. The teachers you had must have thought adding bad factors to things like that would have been a good way of keeping you from it, not thinking that Heavenly Father gave us agency for a reason, and that includes researching and questioning, because He doesn't expect us to sit there and blankly accept everything. He wants us to show that we are thinking with the brains He gave us. I wasn't raised Mormon, but I converted last year and everything I learn I always look up. A good example of this is a book called Joseph Smith as Scientist. It discusses ACTUAL scientific theories and shows how the Revelations made to Joseph Smith match them. I used to drink coffee every day,and I'm glad I don't, now. I noticed after a few months without it (but before I came to the Church) that I seemed less stressed. Caffeine is like any other drug: when you're on it, you need your fix. Once you're free of it, and I mean completely free, don't get the cravings anymore, you feel much better.

Yeah, sometimes people add their own stuff to the lessons that's not technically in the manual... and that's where some of the strange comments/ rumors come from. Anyhoo, I was raised a Mormon too, and I just love it!
