Edit: Alcmene and Zeus are Hercules birth parents. They are now divorced. It's a very neat and tidy reason to why Hercules has four parents and it follows the myth.

So I'm going to make a guess, and say that while Hera is the stepmother, unlike in real mythology, she does love her stepson (she chose to go to see his performance, implying she supports him). But with real mythology, she's simply not a fan of Zeus's old flame(s).
