OMG you're right! Kaneki really does experience the worst of both worlds! As a human he's a secluded orphan, an outsider, he can't eat normal food and socialize with people and no other human being -except one- cares for him and misses him when he disappears. As a ghoul he's not one of those who live peacefully and keep a low profile; he's forced to fight all the time and canibalize to get stronger, he's almost tortured to death by a crazy person and goes on to become a little crazy himself. He get's so well known that the entire CCG seems to be after him. The few people he cares about are constantly in danger because the associate with him.

he isn't accepted in any of those worlds. not as a human. not as a ghoul.
he is rejected by both groups and had to go through the worst suffering in both situations and he evens puts the people close to him in danger.
tbh i used this title because of the hannah montana song (lmao) and, well.... i couldn't use the "best" because he seriously is rejected in both of them (as you mentioned) so i went with "worst" and still went with the joke.
