Hey everyone!

11th time I enter the PUPA challenge for the group ArtChrysalis , for which we all have the same reference photo, everyone creates their own artwork from it, and upload it on the last day of the month!!

So, this is the reference photo we had to use:

made by Amaryn-Philomena ... I hesitated for a long time on the tools I wanted to use, but I knew it would be in my square sketchbook, I thought the picture would look cool in this format... then, for some reason, I decided I wanted to work with graphite pencils, so I opened the little box where I store them.

I inherited this box from Hubby's dad and there were a few pencils and some material I didn't know in there, but I had never taken time to study what it actually was... I thought it was the occasion... and I was THRILLED to discover what I had thought at first was an ordinary mechanical pencil... it looked like a very old one, and there were 2 small boxes with pencil leads in them... after a closer look, I saw they were HB leads, my favorite ones!! On the boxes is written "Technograph" and on the pencil "Fixpencil"... I decided to try it and it felt immediately awesome, as if these tools and I had already worked a lot together... it felt perfect!!

On the day I started drawing, I had brunch with my brother downtown and told him about my discovery... and he told me he has seen these technographs used by carpenters, engineers and architects; these people generally use old Fixpencils given by a parent or a grandparent, because the recent ones apparently aren't as good and long-lasting... needless to say, I feel incredibly lucky to have one, thank you, Chouca, it has been a real blast to draw with it, and I intend to use it a lot it's a pure delight!!

I intend to make a journal about my technograph later today or maybe on Monday, to exchange with my tool-freak friends here (yes, Ptero-Pterodactylus , I'm talking about you, among others )

This cute little barn in the middle of trees and grass is really an adorable sight, drawing it felt wonderfully relaxing, like a breezy summer day thank you for the photo, Amaryn-Philomena !
