Description The Guardians had just defeated Pitch and were now at the Pole. While they all deserved rest, only one of them would get any.

Tooth had to direct her mini-fairies to places all over the globe to collect teeth, and sort through the newly recovered ones. Sandy had to spread good dreams to all the children, and make sure that none of Pitch's nightmares were still around. North was always busy, making new toys for the yetis to copy for Christmas, as well as watching over them and making sure the toys were made right. Bunny's holiday was over, and normally he'd be free to experiment or rest right now. However the Warren was a mess and he had to plan the best Easter ever for the next year, so kids would keep believing in him.

Jack, however, could rest if he wanted to. Winter was coming to a close in the Northern hemisphere; and while it was going to be starting in the southern in the coming months, it wouldn't be very hard. There was not only less land in general, but the places that actually got snow was so minimal that Jack had almost nothing to do for most of this time of year.

Right now, however, none of them were thinking of that. They were standing together, staring at the globe with it's lights shining. Not every child had had their belief restored, but the amount that had was staggering none the less.

Jack, however, was staring at the lights in Burgess, thinking about the kids that now believed in him. It was a wonderful feeling, and he just wanted to go back while winter had a strong enough presence for him to be there.

North looked at the new guardian, and could tell what he was thinking. With a sigh he tapped his shoulder, "You know that we are not meant to be seen all the time, yes?" he asked.

Jack lost his smile as he looked at the man, "You are not seriously about to tell me I can't go spend time with the only kids in the whole world that can see me, are you?" He asked, "Cause you should know that I won't listen if you are."

North smiled, "No, no, of course not! Just making sure you know belief is strongest when children do not see us.... Too much" The big man patted the boy on the shoulder. "When you go back, just wait for them to spot you. They may think it was all dream when they wake up, and is best if they figure it out on their own."

At this point, North started telling Jack about how various things could effect belief, how they had some rules about things, and so on, but Jack had stopped listening. He knew a lot of this already, not that it had ever applied to him until now.

"Yeah, North" He said, when he finally stopped talking, "I got it." Giving a yawn and stretch he added, "I'm tired, so I'll just go now... see you around" Before anyone could say anything else the wind picked him up and he flew off.

"No way he listened to that" Bunny said, coming up behind North, "Though the bugger is lucky to be able to rest."

Sandy laughed silently, and an image of a bed with a sleeping child appeared over his head, then he pointed to the door.

"Yeah, I have to go too" Tooth said, in between rattling off addresses to her mini-fairies, "Gotta sort the teeth back into place and make sure all my fairies are okay!"

"Ah, yes, I suppose it is time to get back to work." North said, "However, one more thing before you go." He paused for effect, as North tended to do "We will have party for Jack!"

The other guardians were quick to agree, even Bunny, and they decided to have a party in a week. Not only to welcome Jack to being a guardian, but also to celebrate Pitch's defeat.

Once the details of the surprise party had been worked out, Sandy, Tooth and Bunny left to do their respective jobs and to get ready for the party.

-----

The next week was very busy for the four guardians. Each one had their usual tasks, as well as cleaning up after the battle with Pitch, and getting ready for the party. They had decided to leave most of the party up to North, as he had the least amount of extra work to do, however each guardian wanted to give Jack a gift.

Each one wanted to give him a gift for a different reason, but they all knew they wanted to give him something. The main problem was figuring out what you gave to someone that not only didn't seem to need anything, but hadn't received a gift in 300 years.

In the end they all decided on gifts, and got everything ready. Finally the day of the party arrived and they were now at North's workshop, only one detail had yet to be worked out.

"How do we get Jack here?" Tooth asked, it was the one detail they had over looked. The workshop was already decorated with paper snowflakes. The gifts for Jack were set on a table. Food and drinks were set out, but the guest of honer didn't even know about the party.

Without saying a word, North lifted up the red sack they had originally shoved Jack into.

Bunny chuckled a bit at the thought, but said, "You know he was joking about that? Though it would surprise him, that's for sure."

"Jack said he liked the sack." North said, and the two began arguing.

Sandy started waving his hands to get their attention, though they didn't notice. Tooth, however, did. She flew over and watched the sand above his head shift and change rapidly while the other two argued.

"Hey, boys" She said, flying over to them, "Sandy's got it."

The two looked at her about to ask questions, but they trusted the oldest guardian. As they watched he floated out the window.

-------

Sandy knew just where Jack would be this time of the year, so he was easy to find. As he floated on his cloud of sand towards the teen he waved to get his attention. Jack had been looking at the sky and spotted Sandy quickly, so he flew over.

Before Jack could ask any questions Sandy made a ton of symbols appear above his head. So fast that he knew no one would be able to follow it.

"Sandy, slow down! I'm not that good at this" Jack said, Sandy just smiled and grabbed Jacks wrist, pulling him onto the sand cloud, which he then morphed into an airplane.

"Where are we going, Sandy?" Jack asked, he was being held in place by the dream sand. When the older guardian didn't answer he shrugged and sat back, only to be knocked out by some dream sand that Sandy made go in his face.

-------

When they got to the pole the guardians put Jack in a chair that looked towards the party set-up. It did not take long for him to wake up.

"Surprise!" North, Bunny and Tooth yelled, while Sandy made small fireworks above his head.

At first Jack was shocked into silence, looking around, he was surprised. All sorts of things flew into his head, and finally he said, with a laugh, "Are you guys ever going to just ask me to come here?"

Tooth flew over and pulled Jack off the chair and into the middle of the room, "We wanted to throw a party for you!"

Looking around Jack could see that they all had worked on the party in varying amounts. He spotted the four gifts on the table, but decided not to draw attention to them. Before he could say anything, North spoke.

"Is to celebrate defeat of Pitch, and you becoming Guardian" The man said, "Now, let us celebrate!"

Soon the elves started playing music, though not as loudly as North wanted. Bunny had told them that if they played too loud Jack might freeze them, really it was so they could all hear each other.

They all just ate, drank and talked for quite a while before North boomed "Time for presents!" and pushed Jack over to the table that held the four small gifts, all neatly packaged in different ways.

North handed him a box wrapped in Christmas paper, clearly from him. Jack shook the box and heard something wooden hitting something else wooden. With a smile Jack opened it, the box itself was very plain so Jack simply opened and discarded it. Inside was a Matryoshka doll, similar to the one North had, but it was of Jack.

"Thanks, North," He said sincerely, taking the doll apart and looking at the many dolls inside. North had really gotten Jack's personality down, so well it was almost weird. The smallest doll, his center, was not there, of course. Jack took out the small doll from his pocket and put it inside as he closed it back up.

Sandy tugged on Jack's sleeve and hanged him a golden envelope. Inside was simply a card, with a promise. The card said that Sandy would give kids dreams of Jack, especially when he was in their cities, to help him get believers.

Jack was speechless, but no words were needed as he smiled widely at Sandy, who smiled back with a nod.

Bunny gave his gift next, he was twitching because it felt weird to him, though he tried to hide it, "Here ya go, mate" he said, handing Jack a box similar to North's.

"Aww, you care" Jack teased, as he took the box and the glare the comment had earned him. Unlike North's, this box wasn't warped, though it had been tied shut.

Undoing the tie, Jack removed the lid. Inside was a digital camera, and a few SD cards. "Wasn't sure what to get ya," Bunny explained, "But I figured you'd like something to use with yer new mates." After a pause Bunny added, "It's water-proof, so ya don't have ta worry if ya drop it in the snow"

Jack laughed as he thanked Bunny, putting the gift in his pocket. He decided not to question how exactly Bunny had gotten the Camera.

"Here's mine, Jack" Tooth said, handing him a green box.

The box was smaller then the other boxes had been, and he couldn't hear anything inside when he shook it. He took the paper off of it and looked in the box. Their was a ton of tissue paper, which he carefully removed.

Inside was a golden necklace with a locket-type thing on the end. The locket was similar to the containers Tooth kept children's teeth in, but it was circular and smaller than his palm. Instead of having colourful diamond shapes on it, one side of the container had a white snowflake over a dark blue background. The back of the locket was pure gold and had frost like patterns covering it.

Baby Tooth flew over and lifted the gold chain up as she chirped at him. With a laugh Jack put it on like she waned.

"It has your baby teeth in them, so you'll always have them with you" Tooth explained with a smile, "Me and Baby Tooth worked on it together"

Jack smiled at Tooth, "Thanks, that means a lot" He said, as the mini-fairies started fawning over his teeth again, only to get scolded by Tooth, who was smiling back at Jack.

The party lasted for quite a while longer before the guardians left, saying that they would meet up again soon.

As Jack left he felt quite happy, he knew that he had a family, and the gifts had meant a lot to him. He couldn't wait for winter to come back to the Northern Hemisphere so he could show them to Jamie and the other kids. Though he silently wondered how much trouble he would get in if he went their for just one more snow day...
