Description
Theresa felt really bad about what she had said to Jack, but had found out the hard way that usually when people said they cared, the didn't. She had really loved making the snowman and talking with him, and had a ton of questions she wanted to ask him, but had held back so she wouldn't freak him out.

As she sat in class, answering every question, behaving the way that the teachers expected her to, she found that she was very upset. It was not odd for her to push people away, since they always disappointed her, but she had not meant to say that to him. It had just come out. She wanted to run outside and find him to apologize, but figured he would probably be gone by the next break.

The teacher handed out a math quiz, which Theresa finished half an hour before the time was up, the first one done. She normally did not draw anything on any of her paper, but this time found herself drawing a picture of her and Jack finishing the snowman. Well, really it was a short female stick figure with long hair and a male stick figure with messy hair next to three circles. With a sigh she held up her hand and the teacher took the test, seeing the picture she was surprised, but did not say anything.

Theresa looked out the window, hoping to see Jack like she had before, but all she saw was the field. She was about to grab her book and start reading when she saw some junior high kids come into view and head right for one of the many snowmen that the kids had built.

Jack had wanted to go after Theresa, but thought better of it. He would stick around until the last break and tell her that pity was not the reason he had spent so much time with her. But once again, he had no clue when the kids had their last break, in an hour? Two? He decided to fly up into one of the trees and take a nap.

He had not been asleep long when he heard laughing, but this was not the laughter of kids having fun. He sat up in his perch and looked around, it was not hard to find the source of the laughs. A bunch of kids, maybe 13 or 14 years old. They were obviously skipping school, not that Jack cared about that. He watched the teen boys push each other around, into snowbanks and laugh, suddenly one of them pointed at one of the snowmen.

While he and Theresa had built theirs, many other kids had followed suit with the idea, their were about two dozen snowmen in all, maybe a little more. They were all at different stages of completion and all were different sizes, some already had arms, a few had faces made out of whatever the kids could find (left over vegetables for the most part) while others like his and Theresas were missing a part. Some were barely a foot tall, others were so tall that Jack had been impressed that a bunch of little kids had managed to make them.

Jack floated down from the branch, not sure what to expect but he had a fairly good idea. The boys headed over to the snowman that had been pointed at, this was one of the smaller ones, about two feet high in total, and stepped on it. The boys looked at the windows of the school, some of the kids must have been looking out because they stuck their tongues out toward the school.

"Hey!" Jack yelled, knowing they couldn't hear or see him. He was hurrying towards the group, but was really not sure what he could do.

Theresa gasped involuntarily as she saw the little snowman get smashed. The class, always looking for a distraction, looked first at her and then followed her gaze to the window.

"Our snowman" A pair of girls cried out as they saw the boys knock down another one and roll it's pieces away. One of them tried to break the middle with his foot but just stubbed his toe.

Theresa was the only one to see why, right before the kick landed she saw Jack freeze the part where the foot would have hit, protecting the orb of snow.

"Everyone, look back at your paper and be quiet, I'll phone the office and the Principle will handle this" The teacher said, closing the blind. The last thing Theresa saw was one of the boys knocking down her and Jacks snowman.

The boys had spread out, knocking down every snowman and trying to kick the pieces into bits. Some of the heads got smashed while Jack wasn't looking, but he managed to save most of the larger pieces.

"What's wrong with you?" He said, stopping a bottom from being smashed, "The kids at this school had so much fun building these and then you come along and break them apart!" He turned around in time to see them push over his and Theresas snowman. "Oh that's it" He said, glaring, he made the ice on the pieces so hard that the boy actually yelled in pain. Jack knew it was a rotten thing to do, but so was smashing snowmen.

One of the other boys looked up from the mini-snowman he had stepped on while Jack had been busy, "Hey, you ok?" He called

"Just fine" He said, and spit on the snowman.

"Yeah, the kids are upset over it" Theresa heard her teacher say into the phone, trying to keep her voice down, "I know, but can anyone go stop them? They look like they should be in school right now" She paused, listening to the other person on the phone, "My class is writing a test, I can't leave... hold on one second" She looked up from the phone "Eyes on your own paper, Frank" She said, giving the giggling class a quick look before tuning back to the phone, "Ok, thanks, I'm sure the kids will be happy"

Theresa, who at this point would normally be reading a book, was looking right at her teacher. The teacher walked over to the window, giving the class a quick glance to make sure no one was cheating, peaked out the window. Theresa got up and moved over to the teacher.

"Can I look?" She asked "I was building one and want to see if they smashed it..."

"No, Theresa, I'm sorry, you'll have to wait until recess like everyone else." The teacher said, "Now go sit, other people are still writing" With a slight nod Theresa did as she was told.

After a few moments the teacher turned away from the window.

Jack was doing his best to protect the snowmen, but non-the-less, by this point all the mini-snowmen had been stomped on and most of the others had been broken apart, only two or three were left standing by the time an older man came around the side of the school, yelling.

"Hey! Get back to your own schools! If I get over there and find out who you are you'll be in big trouble" He trudged through the snow towards the boys, who immediately started to run, slipping on ice Jack formed under them with a smirk. They all managed to get away anyway, but there was nothing more for Jack to do.

With a sigh he walked over towards the tree he had been in before, "Where do you think you're going, young man?" With a start Jack turned around and started at the man, who was looking right at him.
