Description Theresa turned around and looked at Bunnymund, "Yeah, I did. I'm glad I did, too, what's it to you?" She asked

It was not the response Bunny had expected, but at least she stopped, "Well he told me a bit about you. Like how you like to read" Bunny was trying to think about anything Jack had told him, he had really just told him the school she went to and that she reads a lot.

Theresa rolled her eyes at him, and held up her book, "Anyone could guess that. Why would you interact with Jack Frost? I heard you complaining about the snow on Easter"

Bunny had not realized that she had heard that, and was regretting how vocal he was about his complaints sometimes, "Yeah, I don't like snow, but Jack's... an alright guy"

Theresa just shook her head, "Thank you for letting me help you hide eggs, I really enjoyed it." she looked him in the eye, "But don't think you're the first," she paused, trying to think of an appropriate word, but gave up, "person I've met that acted like my life would be better if I just 'talked about it'"

Just as Bunny was about to reply Theresa ran off. Defiantly could have gone better

-----

Bunny wondered around the schools field for the next few hours, thinking of ways to approach the girl. At her age most kids had stopped believing in the Easter bunny, so he was determined to help her.

By the time the kids were outside for their lunch break Bunny still had no ideas. Since he had not really talked about the girl with Jack he didn't know what she was going through. He decided that instead of trying to talk to the girl again he would watch her and see what he could figure out.

This time Theresa had a skipping rope with her, and was about to start skipping when a boy came up to her.

"Hey, freak," He said, "Why are you here? Your mommy not want you at home?"

Theresa simply glared at him, "Not that it's any of your business, Frank, but my mom was busy today so I stayed for lunch. Now go away and leave me alone."

Frank walked closer to her, making it so she couldn't start skipping, "No, I don't think I will."

Theresa went to walk away, "Whatever" She said, but as she passed him he grabbed her arm.

"Hey, I'm not done talkin' to you." He said, clenching his other hand into a fist

Theresa looked at his hands and to the skipping rope she was carrying in her free hand, "Frank, if you don't let go of me, I will hit you with this." She threatened, "I'll give you three more warnings."

"Yeah right, like a wimpy girl like you would do that." He replied, tightening his grip.

"No ones around," Theresa said, "No one will believe you if you told. Two more warnings, let go of my arm"

"You're too much of a goody-two-shoes to do something like that" Frank said, still holding her.

"It would be self defense, you're hurting my arm." Theresa said, glancing around, looking for someone to help her. "One more warning"

"I'd like to see you try" Frank said, pulling her closer.

Theresa spotted Bunnymund and he could see her give up, as though she thought seeing him was as good as seeing no one, "Last warning, you have five seconds to let go of me" She said to Frank.

"Hey!" Bunnymund yelled without thinking, "Let go'a her ya brat!"

Frank was shocked to hear another voice, and let go of Theresa, who jumped back a few feet. "You got lucky." Frank said, running off.

Theresa let out a huge breath when he was out of sight and dropped to her knees on the hard ground. After spending a minute like that, breathing in and out slowly, Theresa walked over to where Bunnymund was still hiding.

"Thanks" She said.

"Ya wouldn't have really hit the brat, would ya?" He asked, he really couldn't tell.

With a shrug she simply replied, "First time for everything. Though I'm glad I didn't have to."

Bunnymund nodded, at a lose for words. Theresa clearly had it ruff, and had given up hope, but was still ready and willing to fight against her bullies, "I'm surprised a kid like him could hear me, though." He finally said, trying to make some kind of connection with the girl.

"Yeah, Frank doesn't strike me as someone that would believe in the Easter bunny" She laughed, and Bunny joined in.

As the laughter died down it was replaced with an awkward silence that went on for well over a minute before Theresa finally ended it, "Thanks for your help, but you really should go do your job somewhere else." She said, "That hope thing or whatever? I've learned that hope is useless, so you'd just be wasting your time."

Bunny sighed, he knew Theresa was being honest about how she felt, and trying to save him time, but her words also sounded like a call for help. "Don't be like that" He said, "Everyone has hope, and everyone needs hope. Without it, life is dull and sad"

"Maybe for most people" Theresa said, "But for me hope just makes life disappointing and hard."

"Well, talking about it won't change your mind, so I have an idea." Bunny said with a slight smile, "Wouldn't you rather play with some other kids then by yourself?" He asked.

Yeah, no clue how he had so many friends....

I just finished writing the next part... It's not what I expected, was planning to write, or even thought would ever be written by me. I have no idea where it came from... I kind of like it though! For reasons I can not understand...
