"Good night, Olivia" Jack said as he watched his sister climb into her bed. He was standing outside her window, having decided that he would find out where the golden sand came from.

It did not take long after Olivia had closed her eyes for golden vines of sand to come down from the sky, all of them going to different houses. It was an amazing sight that Jack could have simply stood and watched.

"Okay" He said to himself, "I can do this" He had discovered that he could fly with the assistance of the wind, but it was unnerving. People were not meant to fly, he was sure of that, and while he had climbed and jumped around for most of his life, being so high up still freaked him out.

Gathering his courage Jack called on the wind and rose shakily in the air. Taking a deep breath and willing himself not to look down, Jack flew. He followed the golden sand as fast as he was willing to go.

Jack flew for a while, seeing the sand going into houses in every town and city. Finally he found where it was coming from, a golden cloud made of the same sand was flouting high above the towns.

Jack lowered himself into a nearby tree, he had not really thought this through. He had a ton of questions, but no idea is someone would even be on that cloud to answer him. Even if someone was on the sand cloud, he did not know what language they spoke, or if they would even speak to him at all.

Taking a deep breath, Jack decided that these thoughts were getting him nowhere and took off towards the golden cloud.

When Jack was high enough to see the top of the cloud he was shocked to see a tiny man who seemed as though he was made of the same golden sand as the cloud. The small man was currently facing away from Jack, so he had a moment to take in the sight, though not too long.

After a moment the small man turned around, and jumped at the sight of the teen.

"Um, hi" Jack said, really unsure of what to make of the whole thing.

The small man waved at him and smiled, suddenly the golden sand made a small question mark above his head and the man pointed at him.

Jack stared at the man for a moment before gathering his meaning, "Who am I?" He asked, and the man nodded, "I'm Jack Frost, who are you?"

The little man laughed silently, clearly amused that the teen had no idea who he was. A scene of a child on a bed appeared, bouncing up and down, then a mini version of the man appeared and sprinkled some of the sand over the child. The child in the scene fell asleep. After showing the scene the man looked at Jack, who was thinking to himself.

"You're... The sandman?" Jack said after a moment, the man nodded but Jack could couldn't believe it. "The guy that's supposed to be in charge of putting kids to sleep." Jack was talking to himself at this point, the sandman seemed to realize this and was simply watching the teen, "I guess that explains a lot."

The Sandman smiled Jack, and pointed at a roof before floating down towards it, he was curious about the new spirit. When the pair was sitting comfortably on the roof the Sandman made a small image of Jack going towards a small image of him, then a question mark appeared.

"I was curious" Jack explained, immediately understanding the question, "I died a week ago, and since then I saw swirling sand above my little sister, showing what I assumed were her dreams. I wanted to know where it came from"

The Sandman looked sad when Jack mentioned he had died, but he decided not to approach the subject. Instead an image of a sleeping girl appeared above his head, with a tiny question mark where the dream would be.

Jack smiled slightly, "She dreams about me" Jack still had many questions he wanted to ask the small man, but for now he was simply enjoying talking to someone that could hear him, "Every night since I died, she dreams about playing with me." Jack sighed, "She blames herself for my death, I just wish she could hear me so I could tell her it wasn't true." Jack pulled his legs up to his chest as he finished talking.

The Sandman put his hand on Jack's shoulder, after a few minutes of silence The Sandman showed him a scene of Jack talking to a small girl, giving her a hug, then that same small girl in a bed with the scene over top of her.

Jack's eyes widened as he grasped the meaning, "Could- Would you really do that?" He asked, in truth he had been thinking of the same thing, but was unsure how to ask. After all, the pair had just met.

The Sandman nodded and an image of a girl and a house appeared above his head, then a mini Jack leading a mini Sandman.

"Yeah, lets go now!" Jack said, hopping up.

It was around three in the morning when the pair got back to Jacks house, on the way they had talked quite a bit, though Jack did not understand all of what the Sandman said. Especially when he got excited and 'spoke' quickly.

The pair was now in Olivia's room, watching her current dream, where she was playing tag with Jack and her friends. Sandman was smiling down at the girl as he got ready to give her a new dream.
