I love the overall feeling of this one. I'm really moved by it, truthfully. I love how they seem to mesh into each other...b-e-a-utiful.

Just a quick question, but you don't use watercolour paper for these, do you? I don't see any of the texture that would show through and am curious as to what you used.

As for this piece, I love how it feels we can never be too close. The warm colours were a great choice to elicit emotion.

i generally just use drawing paper, from daler rowney sketchbooks and daintree paper (www.daintree.ie/ - they use recycled cottons and linens to make a great range of papers, mostly for decorative use, but some good drawing and printing paper too) and i would usually go for 180-250gsm. i use scraps and old card or books as often as possible and make a lot of my own sketchbooks. i tend to have an ethical freak attack any time i buy paper, but daler rowney do make an annoyingly nice range of sketchbooks. not a big fan of the water colour paper, i prefer more subtle texture for fine pens and lines. and i don't use heavy washes of colour so i generally don't need to worry about the paper warping. if it does i just fix it to card or wood. hope that helps.

and thanks

Strangely appealing....... what seems simple is nevertheless complex, perhaps hinting at the ambivalence of relationships?

This is really beautiful. I love how your art seems kind of . . . simple, at first glance, but it conveys so much emotion. What you do is extremely skillful.
