Description Inspired by nature this time, and he is the king of dragons, this beautiful Komodo lives at Chester Zoo and I've used someone special's photo (not posted anywhere) as reference. Finelined in 0.1 and 0.8 uni pin black fineliner, along with pigma microns brown, blue, and sepia in 0.1 nib, cross hatching to represent the muscle structure with a little watercolour wash in whatever colours were hanging around still on my palette that I've mixed in th last few days from my Aquafine watecolour pocket set.

You have captured a Komodo's gait well.

Thank you, managed to use shadowing to bring out the muscle structure. Thanks for commenting.

Love the cross hatching here! It adds texture and brings out the detail! Β

Glad you think so but in real life he's 8 foot long with toxic drool that kills their prey once bitten!Β

Thank you, their skin is so textured it was the only way I could think of to indicate the scales on him.
