Description I weave chain mail and started making some little pieces because of how challenging some of the weaves looked and because you can finish them more quickly than a shirt. All these pieces start as straight wire, I make all my own rings from wire.
This is the bracelet I wear every day. I started doing the chain mail as something do do for the Society for Creative Anachronism's arts and science competitionsa and moved on to jewelry making. I wear this piece for two reasons. One is that he weave is called the fool's weave and I like the reminder to not be one. Two, as a reminder to strive toward being an honorable person. I do not believe that I am perse, but I do believe in striving to be so. This is made of 14 gage steel so it's heavier than most of the stuff I make.

This one I have seen. I have always like it. Do you have any idea why they call it fool's weave? How far back does this craft go? I believe you have a market for you work. You definitely need to look into this. Congratulations Amigo Shawn. Adios.

The weave is based on the box weave which is an adaptation of the basic four in one pattern. The fools knit suppossedly originated from someone missaligning the rings which is why there is a ring trapped in the middle. I'm pretty sure this is whee it came from. The bird cage is another name for the pattern but I don't think that quite fits unless there's something trapped inside the ring. So I call it a fool's knit.

No idea. I start with quarter mile long spools of wire. I guess I't mail them or UPS 'em or something.
