Monastor — Painting With the Camera

Description An experiment. I moved the camera quickly to acquire a specific blur making the photo look like a kind of painting. It turned out pretty well. This image is just a little part of a whole composition. I didn't just resize the whole image as it would lose its charm. I'm really satisfied with how this looks. I'll probably make some big prints and hang this image (and something similar) on my wall.

If i may ask? do you have to move the camera in a particular direction? like up or downward motion or ??

In this particular case, I moved it downwards. But there are no rules in general. You don't have to concentrate on any given axis as every combination may have an interesting outcome.

I really like the way you did this. It looks more like a digital painting than a photo, which is what you were looking for. Blur usually detracts from pictures, but you did an excellent job using it to your advantage.
