I just tried colouring and shading with markers yesterday... it was a complete FAIL! DX

Actually, it's very good, and I should know, been staring at it for a good two minutes now ^^ I don't think he looks that childish (maybe that'd be the larger eye?) but his ear looks a bit unnatural.
You are great with layout on these things, and picked a good background colour which is nicely faded towards the smoke (which in itself looks good as well). Overall, it's a really nice piece :3

I looove how you did Shika's vest! The colors are just right and it's cool how it squiggles away at the bottom!!

And smoke lines look so transparent and yet they're not!
It's also nice how you chose a kinda cream-ish sorta background as well!

I didn't have a ProMarker of right colour for the vest, so I dig up some old failure marker and doodled with it, turned out alright after all.
I was aiming for that!
