Description I saw the Death Note series Nendoroid in some toy stores, and am very impressed by their cuteness.
Since I don't think they are going to make one for Matsuda, I decided to "make" one by myself--I edited the Light Nendoroid into...this!

I can't draw realistic things though, so I Photoshoped some Nendoroid's hair and eyes instead of drawing them out. That's why they look a bit weird.
If you don't download the full image, it may be hard to notice the flaws though.

My favourite is the second one... the first one looks too stupid, and the third one's eyes are a bit queer.... perhaps that's because they are actually taken from a girl?

That's really nice It's a shame poor Matsu doesn't get any merch. I read he was considered for the DN special edition DVD figures but got shafted for Kiyomi Takada. I mean it's not like Matsuda's been in the series since the start or anything *eyeroll*

I hoped they would release a figure for him when I know there are figures for the DVDs too, especially when I found they have figures for Soichiro...

mmm =/ I mean I kinda get WHY they chose Soichiro over Matsu, but the King of Death seems like a waste. Plus Matsuda plays a big part in the last episode so having him for the last dvd would still have made sense. However you could probably kitbash a Matsuda out of Mikami...though he's also a massive pain to find.

It's really easy to make one. All you have to do is repaint Light & that's it

Not really... you also have to cut out part of Light's hair and lengthen it with sculpey!

I mostly used the smudge tool for his hair only... for the grainy look, I suspect it's just because of the low resolution of the .jpg file I used.

Plushies are cute, but I think Nendoroids are still cuter. And I think that company rarely makes figures for too many characters in a single anime... if they are going to, it's not likely that they would add Matsuda in the collection too.
But anyway, I would like to have a Near Nendoroid if they decided to make one, indeed!
